    Lore for the boats!
NOTE: Admirals command whole fleets, while captains command just a single boat.

    Shooter:
The first ship made specificly for battles in the bay. Most captains own one, even if it's rusting at their private dock. Even though it uses more outdated technology compared to the new-fangled Enforcers and Fixers, Shooters can dish out their fair shair of pain in a firefight thanks to the unique weapon rotation system hidden inside of its sturdy armoured shell. The very earliest Shooter prototypes didn't have the shell around the front half of the ship, nor the ingenious weapon rotator hidden within. It didn't take long, however, for mechanics and engineers to invent the Shooter's trademark, and therefore elevating it above the ramshacle converted fishing boats used for warfare in previous years.

However, the Shooter's primative motor is infamously volotile, and warning stickers are plastered all over it for good reason- several engine overheating related explosions are recorded every few months. In fact, Bobber "Blind Bob" Woshstien, an eyeless mercenary known for his uncany aiming skills despite his blindness, didn't fall casualty to the four unfriendly boats that he was rapidly pelting with weapon fire- it was the overworked and overheating engine of his Shooter that gave in and exploded in a violent fireworks show of flame and shrapnel. Bay historians and avid Blind Bob fans alike agree that he would have reduced the other boats to shrapnel themselves if not for the faulty engine of his supposedly trusty ship.

Shooters are very easy to modify- even a team of amature mechanics can create almost anything from a Shooter skeleton. Whether or not this ship design lasts is subject to skill, however. The only Shooter varient that really lifted off is the red and yellow Interceptor. Smaller changes, such as adding a more few torpedeo bays here and an extra shield there, are more common and more successful than engineering an entire new ship design. The ease of change means that an admiral can order a change of weapon for their Shooters right before the begining of a battle, offering an element of surprise for more well-known fleets. One of the most famous of these "switcheroos" came before what is now known as the Battle of Mortain's Mines. Admiral Shayleen Mortain was famous for fielding fleets of Shooters specializing in mortars, destroying the enemy before they could even see her ships. Some people used to argue that Shayleen was an unskilled captain in control of too much power because of her "spineless" and "cowardly" stratigies. She proved these skeptics wrong during the battle, before which her spies alerted to her that the enemy forces had her strategy's exact counters in them- speeders with tesla bolts and blast cannons! Therefore, she demanded two of her Shooters be retrofited with mines at the eleventh hour and fifty-ninth minute, catching the enemies off guard. She used these minelayers to their most effective during battle, using mortar fire from the other ships to chanel the unfriendly boats into the mines. No enemy ship or unfriendly crew member survived that battle. Not even the opposing admiral escaped the carnage- And the win was almost single-handedly thanks to the blood-red boats dubbed "Shooters".

    Speeder:
    Comming Soon!
    Enforcer:
    Comming Soon!
    Fixer:
    Comming Soon! (In production)
    Defender:
    Comming Soon!
    Interceptor:
    Comming Soon!
    Reaper:
the Reaper is the brainchild of the sadly deceased ship engineer and admiral Girmm Diaboo Tikk, aka "The Girmm Reaper." Girmm was unusal because he was both a fleet admiral and an engineer. Most people only manage either becoming maybe a ship gunner for a small fleet or routine repair mechanic for fishing boats, but Girmm chose option number 3: both. Because of his ship engineering skills, he knew how to tell weather a ship's engine is overworked or why a gun is jammed, and his expericence as an admiral allowed him to create plans of attack that most mechanics wouldn't ever be able to think up. This made his fleet a very dangerous force. Despite the superiority of Girmm's ships, the Reaper was first dreamed of after Admiral Girmm had a close shave with death when his command boat, at that time a Fixer, was cracked straight in half by a Berta shot. Girmm himself just barely escaped with his life in an escape raft, and his loyal second-in-command, Evan, was killed. After he returned to his base, he started designing a ship that could heal like a fixer, but also dish out more damage. He also poured his anger and grief at losing the battle, most of his fleet, and Evan into the design, giving birth to the sharp, jagged edges characteristic to the ship that would become known as the Reaper. Ironicly, Girmm died in a battle with the same admiral that caused him to invent the Reaper. The battle would soon after become known by the very unimaginative title "The Battle of Girmm's Reaper". Girmm and the opposing admiral were dukeing it out in a 1v1. Girmm's opponent was highly damaged, but if Girmm got any closer to line up a shot, he would be sunk by grendades. He only had one option: kamikaze. He ordered his crew to pour all of his remaining nitro cans into his engines. The crew obliged, even though that they had a hunch that this endevor would end in death. And it did. Not just death for Girmm's crew, however; death for the other admiral! Girmm's Reaper smashed into the other admiral's Shooter, not leaving the gunners enough time to aim the grenades and also smashing both boats into pieces. A few lucky crew members from both sides escaped, but both Girmm and the enemy admiral were causulties of the battle. The ships from both sides eventuly dispersed when news of both admiral's deaths came around, leaving the battle a stalemate. Girmm's prized boat was named after him, and the design of the Reaper has spread throughout the bay.

Strangely, Girmm's body was never found, and when his sunken ship was, it was completly intact, abit filled with water. The ship was drained and put in a museum, where it mysteriously dissapered after just under two weeks. Shortly after that, Reaper owners recall stories of their ships umooring themselves and going for midnight drives (floats?) through the surrounding waters, sometimes even fireing cannons! Some say that these occurences are the product of Girmm's spirit being awakened by the precense of a Reaper, but it is more widely accepted that the quriky nature of the Reaper itself is to blame. Because of these ghostly events, the Reaper has become symbolic of death and ghosts. As to bring the Reaper's reputaiton down even further, The Cult of the Tape has even welcomed and even recruited Reaper captains into their ranks! Because of this, people woried about thier social status won't even touch a Reaper. In fact, most people won't touch a Reaper anyway! However, captains who dare to use it and awaken Girmm's wrath often have very succsesful carrers.

Because the master blueprint of the Reaper was lost after Girmm's death, all Reapers must be cobbled together from whatever is avalible. This results in many Reapers that are less than stable in battle unless you spend a good amount of blood, sweat, and tears to fortifiy it. Very often, Reaper owners go out on missions just to obtain that one rare part to upgrade their ship. That's not the longest of the lengths that Reaper loyalists go for their prized grey-green boat, however. Some more unsavory people actully strip their fellow Reaper users' boats for parts! All too often, a battle is started and unessicary because a disgruntled captain or admiral got a few parts stolen from their precious Reaper. The cause of this extreme devotion to a boat is unknown, but many people have theories pointing to Admiral Girmm and his passion for Evan, and therefore his Reaper. There are just as many skeptics as there are believers in this "crackpot" theory, but no one can debunk the fact that odd and even supernatural things happen around Reapers.

In case you need it, here is ship lore 1.0;)

    Shooter:
'the shooter is the most common ship in the bay. Everybody has one, no matter if it's the main vessel or a rusty, poorly mantained hunk of metal that never sees battle. They were the first ship to be mass-produced for the war, and early versions were unstable and clumsy. Most retain the latter property, but are supprisingly durrable, being used as the tank in most fleets untill the far newer defender started production.

Even though it has some of the most advanced weapon technology, many can be prone to overheating to dangeroius tempratures when used too brutaly. So, most heating-prone shooters have some form of emblem or sticker that warns of overheating. Almost all of the higher-class shooters have state of the ark cooling systems to stop the heating, and therefor are some of the most expensive.'

    Speeder:
'The speeder was a smash-hit when It came out, causing shooter manufacturers to have a large dent in there sales untill the release of the enforcer. It was origanaly red like the shooter, but later versions were colored yellow to make it catch the attention of the enemy better. This and its shape have caused it to gain the moniker "Banana Boat."

Despite it's popularity, the speeder is not for everyone; far more non-battle related deaths have been caused by speeders than any other ship. In fact, you must take a chalenging driving test to be allowed to buy one by most legal stores. On the other hand, the richest and most skilled captains have used speeder to become trully infamous.'

    Enforcer:
'The Enforcer was produced by the creators of the shooter to counter the speeder, both on the battlefeild and in the market. It uses many of the support weapons from the speeder, but also uses "tesla" technology, Pioneered by Bzzientist Charles Z. Buzzkill, to sheild itself in battle. The trademark engines on the port and starboard sides are not peresent on the weaker models, perhaps to make them cheaper. One rumor states that the engines fell off the prototypes, but were not put back on because of a lack of time before the production deadline.

The famous "backwords drive" system is based on using tesla pulses to boost the ship in the other direction while keeping the normal engines on, causing what some call the "Enforcer dance." this feature furthers the Enforcer's use of speeder extermanater, as dodging their shots is vital.'

    Defender:

'The defender knocked the shooter out of the tank posision it had fullfiled ever since it came out, as the defender is bigger, bulkier, and uses a rare alloy that was created just for the defender. This alloy reflects other metals to an extent, making weaker bullets literatly bounce off. Also, the somewhat simple frame allows for lots of modifications to be added, from extra jet engines to stashes for extra gear lubricant, ensuring that no two defenders are the same.

Despite the two somewhat overstated solild-fuel jet engines on the back, the defender is basicly a big slab of metal with a gun stuck on. That means that it is very slow and very, very heavy.
In fact, it's a wonder that it actully floats! taking that into mind, the defender can still soak up the bulk of the enemies firepower, with it's intimidating presents ensuring that it becomes top priority to be sunk by the oposision. Weather that happens, however, is another story alltogether.'

NOTE: Girmm's full name is pronounced "Girm Die-a-boo Tick"
