Will there be more chances for Interceptor ship pieces?

Sure the general opinion here is that ship pieces will remain grindable after the event but I'm disappointed we still haven't had any dev comments about this topic.

And I really hope there would be a way to earn ship pieces through normal ranked battles because I don't enjoy events as much. Knowing it will take ridiculous amount of ship pieces to get Interceptor to lvl 50, I really wouldn't want to be forced to spend all that time playing something I don't even enjoy.

 

This is the way a new toy for the bay should be rolled out. You get an opportunity to win the new toy and then the next event the new toy should be boosted to try out more so you can use it while leveling it up. The only issue I have is it will tale puzzle pieces to upgrade the ship instead of gold like the rest of the boats.

Question: if each new ship will have its own unique ship pieces and it seems that ship pieces are going to be the event prizes for a while (just guessing since they announced old prize system is gone and being replaced and this was the replacement) and coins expire at the end of the event, what are the people who spent money and leveled up to lvl 50 already going to do next event? That’s not my situation but just curious what they have planned to keep spending up. There will be nothing to play the event for for spenders if that’s how it is planned. (Assuming another ship doesn’t come as early as next event of course)

 

According to the ship piece description the current ship pieces are unique to interceptor and all future pieces will be unique to new ships..
"Each ship has it's own pieces to find"....

 

This may change in future updates but who knows.

 

I will post in this thread I really hope they make it so you can upgrade the interceptor with gold or ship pieces in a couple of weeks. I think for the health of the game making it so you can use events and puzzle pieces for extra ship levels is a great strategy but if you are not going to give ship pieces every event it will take forever to upgrade. If you make it so puzzle pieces unlock the ship then gold and ship pieces can upgrade the ship will allow for more boats to be in the game. Imagine if they add 4 more boats into the game and ever other week they have an event for a specific boat. This would mean it would take 2 months before you had an opportunity to upgrade the boat you want. For the longevity of the new boats please make it so either gold or pieces can upgrade the boats after new release.

 

This Event has effectively replaced rewards with something we used to get for free (A ship). If we start seeing Ship Pieces replace all Event rewards, progression will have slowed back down to the snail's pace it used to be. If we start seeing Ship Pieces appearing in loot boxes and daily rewards, they will likely be replacing spots that used to be for parts, pieces, cells. I do fear we are seeing the beginnings of a progression regression.

 

I'm sure slowing progression was not the intent and they will be taking a detailed look at the results of this event.
To me it seems they wanted to try ship pieces as a new event reward option and depending on how it works in the real world they may keep it this way or make the necessary changes.

 

So, it takes 10,000 pieces to upgrade from lvl 43-44. This is just awesome

 

Well that is one way to gouge players for money
So my level 12 interceptor has base health of 2912 so from 12-44 it is 1733 health

 

All they needed to do was make common sense calculations beforehand. If a 5 minute match averages 5 coins, 2000 coins will require 31 hours of grinding over 7 days. Even a 3 minute event would be 3 hours of grinding per day. The reward? To keep up this pace for 3 months to upgrade that ship to L50. I don't think they have a choice but to find better ways of earning Ship Pieces than what was obvious before the event began.

 

I completely agree. Considering how large and game changing this update was I'm thinking the ship piece rewards system was either overlooked or slapped together half cocked with the intent to fix it later. I only say this because as you stated it's a pretty big oversight that could've been done much better with a little extra time and attention.

 

I'm pretty sure there will be more opportunities to get more ship pieces. After knowing it takes 10k+ pieces to upgrade it from lvl43-44, I have suddenly lost all my interest in the ship.

It basically means it will take over 170k pieces to max it out(I haven't done the math thou). Sounds like we F2Ps gotta grind forever just to get something we used to get for free. The ship is nothing special compared to the effort it's asking anyway so Why am I missing my Piece, Perk and Parts crates ? Please bring them back thanks

 

They probably should give all players a demo Interceptor that will expire 24h after they first use it, or after X time of use; so everyone can decide if they like it or not; whether it worth the effort to play the event to get the real ship.

 

Honestly, they should just give us ship pieces as battle rewards for ranked matches. Otherwise what’s the point of all these new boats if they’re making it so hard to upgrade them to a competitive level?
