What Do Fixers Dream Of?

Whether or not ´fire bonus´ is perhaps overvalue is an entirely different matter than what the quotation is about.

I run Napalm, which probably damage's 4-5 people in most games (albeit not much, but most will take a hit over 5 minutes) -- In most games all of my 4 teammates will recieve some amount of healing (unless they yolo suicide). I do not get 3 stars every game.

Sorry to single you out - But misinformation and basement-theories is not a useful approach.

 

With all due respect sir, I did not claim to be in possesion of any confirmed knowkedge, all I claimed was that I heard something and merely shared it in an attempt to check if it's real and in the case that it is, share it and help people.

I did not go around telling anybody "Shoot everybody once, heal everybody once, you'll get 3 stars".

Before you critize people of "Spreading false information" kindly try to read and understand what exactly the person in question is attempting to say.

If I am not allowed to share rumours and stuff I hear even in an attempt to crosscheck if they are indeed mere rumours and false information then how the fudge do you even expect me to realize that it is indeed just a rumour and refrain from spreading it?. Am I sime kind of an oracle?

That is not even close to true. I heal almost everyone in half or more of my games and rarely see 2 stars for it. I must do significant damage in almost all cases to earn 2 or 3 stars.

Stuff starts spreading fast on the forum...so good to stop the rumor now. ;-)

Dream: Patient teammates, especially shooters, that know not to go all leroy jenkins on us.

I did not interpret the message I quoted as a question - To me it read more like a statement, which is why I replied to it treating it as such.

Been willing to ask you this for a while. What perks do you use on your Napalm? I'm hesitating, btw duration perk and range perk. Im a fellow fixer btw, mk3 - mk4 soon. I currently play with a sniper cannon, but I think napalm will be my 2nd weapon later. I might even replace my sniper with it before I can run 2 weapons

 

not all dmg from burning bonuses goes to the player who set the fire. The one who set it gets bonus points from every single shot, yes, but everyone who hits that burning ship (when it's still alive of course ) gets normal contribution points. The thing why player who set it to fire gets more contribution is that you get a landed hit everytime it gives dmg + the bonus points from others fire. It gives quite big advantage on contribution and therefore quite good points above the average of course.

Did this make any sense to you?

Oh, same thing with freezing items but those are not giving dmg points to freezer of course. He gets the bonus points from others' hits while they get normal hitting points

 

I only have duration perks, so that is what I use
Would probably add some range if I had the option to do so -- In most cases there aren't that much of a difference between a duration of 20 & 24 seconds (or w/e it is).

 

It's definitely possible, though I don't know about the twice than average. It seems that it's true that who you heal does matter

I did calculate average dmg and it was 4310,5 --> 4311. So your dmg is a bit under that but when calculated fixing and dmg, your total contribution is 6392 and average was 5449,3 so it is over it. There is not calculated fire, freeze etc not visible contributions but with this average of fixed and dmg you are no way near double contribution so I don't know how it does come with fixers.

Maybe, just maybe, it might have effect how many friends you fix but it won't be the only thing and probably not even major part of this to say do you get 2 or 3 stars

 

Here's another one to check.

 

The screenshot tells me a few things:
- As a Fixer you are reliant on how your team does [Look at the other Fixer who healed for twice of what you did -- He got rewarded fuck all for his effort]. I have had several 40k+ healing losses that rewarded 0*'s because all the damage was being dealt by unfriendlies and my teammates weren't landing shots... This is probably my largest complaint with the current logic, if you team doesn't perform it does not matter what you do as a fixer. A shooter doing an excelent job on a terrible losing team will have a much easier time getting 1/2*'s than a fixer doing the same.
- To get 3 stars you need your team to vastly overpower the opposition [Both because you are reliant on your teammates performances, but also because that leaves alot of players with a very low contribution, making it easier to obtain twice the average].

Having said that, I'm not sure we get fewer stars on average than everyone else.

 

Finally somone who gets it!

 

I dream of little things. Like a team that stays close enough for me to heal them, yet spreads out so that we don't all die a fiery death from a well aimed big torpedo.

I don't play fixer much. But I dream of teaming up with fixers that are more focused on healing their teammates, as opposed to their own damage and kill stats.

It sucks.

Another dream of mine, have a team of shooters actually shoot while I do my job as a fixer and not wait for their HP to be full before going out on the battlefield again. *rolleyes* I love teammates who know how to run and hide and snipe while my CD is on. I see you, don't worry.

 

Actually I heard this in some other thread in the same forum I think, can't remember the name.

Also, how can we confirm any possible theories without the devs or admins admitting and revealing the secret sauce?

Do we have to keep blindly guessing till we find a magic formula that works?. Man the devs are stingy people.

Yes, I'm asking if it's easier to get 3 stars if a fixer plays with a flare and freeze blaster.
