WHAT ARE DEFENSE POINTS?

    You can just tap on the defense stat on the inventory screen to see a description that tells you that fire isn't affected by defense.

    Oh hey... you mean that little bit where it says, "Does not reduce incendiary damage." ??

    Yeah, I suppose that might be a tip-off too :)
