You should have got a piece playing six months i suppose. Its hardly been 3 months here, 2 red / 2 yellow without a single cent in :

 

Just want to point out that being VIP has nothing at all to do with getting Legendary pieces/items. As we all know VIP gets you (in a nut shell) battle rewards w/o ads, faster crew training, free daily shop refresh, and VIP chat. Now buying enough pearls to open enough epic containers to get a Legendary item is a different story than being VIP. Although personally if you're gonna spend money and wanna get the most value out of your paper, the way to go is VIP, the daily diver (or whatever it's called) 100 pearls per day, and definitely the daily deal. Especially if the deal has the type of parts you need in it, but not if the "extra" you're getting in the deal is the 2 premium chests. Pretty much everything else has way better value. Haha I got way off point here and I'm not even sure what I'm trying to point out here besides VIP doesn't have anything to do with Legendary pieces/items.

 

I'm a VIP player, and while not directly, it does make it easier to get legendary parts indirectly. With vip you receive the 50% reward for every match without watching the ads. You can even leave halfway the match and still get those 50% bonus. This means more gold, wich means more gold to spend on buying items, wich equals more items to scrap, wich equals higher chances of getting legendary pieces.

And every match you get 1-5 pearls. (I admit, getting 5 or more pearls from a battle is kinda rare). But before you know it, you'll have enough pearls to buy an epic container wich means even more legendary pieces. Yes, still have to be patient tough.

 

Honestly, I don't know what or why you all are arguing about pieces of legendaries. They are very useless, and pointless for you folks that play the F2P long game. T1 Legendaries are about as good as a T5 Rare, slightly better at level 10. Both T5 Rares and T1-T2 Legendaries have 3 slots. Only at T3 are legendaries unlock to 4.

Rares are are very easily achievable(provided that you level your captains), and works for the high infamy 3500+ ACE I and getting your foot into the door to Nightmare league. If you ever dreamed of getting to high Nightmare(4500+), then these are not the gearyou need.

Now let's talk about those Legendaries and why they are useless... well, even if you can get 1 Legendary in 6 months, you'll be praying that it's something you want out of 17 Red items. Given the current 6 month timeframe you guys are talking about, the earliest you can get 3 Legendaries is about 1.5 years. Now, the chances are, you're never going to get 3 of the same, 3 in a row. Those odds are as high as winning the lottery. My point is, the reality is that if you're using only the basis of F2P you'll never get a T5, let alone a T3 Legendary in an reasonable stretch of time. Probably 6-10 years (to get about 20-30 Legendary items), and the game will be long gone by then super-ceded by other games.

Stop arguing about how everyone's luck is better or worst. These are still pretty bleak odds for F2P players, intended to never even touch the high game (as in TOP 50 Players), the whole basis of end game level T3+ Legendaries are simply not made to be attainable for the free player.

What you want to start collecting are Epics, which are more attainable, and the odds are higher at getting. @Kitterini has already worked out the worst case scenario odds, but on average it probably it takes about 1-2 years to get an T5 Epic Weapon from F2P. T4 Epics and of course T5 Epics are way better than a T1 Legendary.

 

That's what I forgot to mention in my comment. D3X is right. As a free to play player, or just VIP, don't even bother with legendaries. Just concentrate on getting tier 5 rares. And eventually in a year you'll have a few tier 4 epics. Tier 5 epics if you got lucky. Tier 5 epic beats a tier 1 legendary anytime.

 

I definitely agree with what you said, the perks of VIP can all combine and make it easier to get Legendary pieces overall in the long run. But my main point and what I was trying to say is that just by being VIP doesn't give you a better chance to get Legendary pieces or make it easier to get Leg pieces "just because you are VIP" And I only mentioned this because that's what it seemed like the OP was saying or at least that's how I read it. But no doubt, I definitely could have been mistaken. It wouldn't be the first time in my life, and definitely won't be the last
