So is this thread about matchmaking or about wanting a 5-person fleet?

I like the idea of a 5-person fleet, but only if fleets are matched up against each other. It is definitely not fair to have 5 fleeted vs 5 unfleeted. Only way the unfleeted has a chance is if they have far better weapons.

However, this opens up a huge window of exploitation. If you only match 5v5, think about a guild timing up 2 5-team fleets and matching each other and then having 1 use only a silly weapon like napalm to rack up tons of damage. This would be even worse if they have a fixer or two. You could finish a damage quest in a single game.

This clearly needs to be thought out thoroughly before it is implemented.

Studies on gambling have shown that the most addictive win/lose patterns are completely random. Random patterns are also the most likely to breed superstition, as your brain will try to find correlation where there is only coincidence.

So it’s in Rovio’s interest to make matches as even as possible (like a coin flip); and it also makes sense that you will think you see a pattern where there isn’t one.

That’s not really matchmaking. That’s a lose streak. We wouldn’t be able to determine if it was a fair matchup without looking at the other players infamy levels.

Oookay. You try doing all that in 10 seconds. For the matchmaking speed BB has, there's no way that they are setting you up.
Edit: If this WAS true, bud, everyone would be at 0 or 24 infamy lol. If it was done by a computer, that is.

I already said it millions of times. 5v5 fleeted needs an independent matchmaking where you can win rewards, but not contribute towards quests.

I only went online after seeing a pattern over 4 weeks (frustrated). My team develops software for healthcare so it would not be difficult to implement an algorithm that combined the high winning players with lower performing players of similar infamy to “keep a balance”. Again, I’m not accusing anyone of anything, it’s just a very strange pattern to consistently get back-to-back games where 3 team-members in the 2000 infamy range are getting 100-1000 damage points each or floating.

That’s definitely a possibility, everything I think is right, might be wrong. However, there is also a possibility that there is something going on with matchmaking beyond just team infamy totals.
