Hi Miika..thanks for taking the time to reply to this thread.
As you said..the sheer amounts of reports must be overwhelming..no doubt a lot of false reports. But can you not prioritize reports of sexual nature?..as IMO this is the most dangerous type of chat behaviour. As I said in my earlier post.. there's a lot of youngsters playing this game and are very susceptible to suggestions..and God forbid if anything bad happened.
People who try to groom kids use these game chat channels..in some Countries they are taught about the dangers of online chat..but as I said..youngsters are susceptible and can easily be coerced.
Concerning the Mute button..how would that work?..would that not easily be abused with people muting others for no reason? I don't play Clash of Clans so have no idea how it works on there.

Chat moderators..not a bad idea?..in amongst the mass of abusive people..there is a sprinkling of decent people who want chat cleaned up.
I'm hoping eventually you'll find a way..as happy players make a better game which attracts more people.
Thanks again for taking notice of this thread..keep up the good work!

Just as an afterthought..how about a message in all chat channels warning people of what is a bannable offence..say every 30 minutes..in a yellow or orange font? That way the people who haven't read the chat rules will know..and not have the excuse of not knowing.

Yes..the internet is full of trolls etc..but the problem isn't the internet.. it's the idiots who think trolling/trawling for sex is "fun" that's the problem.
Chat rooms in games are there for a reason..so are chat rules.
The majority of the people doing it have never looked at chat rules..and basically don't care as they think nobody will report them.
I stay away from Drop Dead Gorge chat..as that is the worse for it.
And where else apart from forum..are we supposed to chat about the game..find guild members..or chat about life in general without having to see rows of the stuff you see in chat everyday?
Sorry if it seems like I'm having a go at you.. I'm not.. I just want a better and safer community for us who actually want to play this game.
    Happy Battling.

Well you all have good ideas. Dev needs to take it seriously, you don't know who's on the other side, maybe a sexual predator. Or a pedofile, sexual offender, or worst! Any good Dev needs to protect the kids that plays online games. If not they're also part of the problem if they do nothing. It's also the parents/guardians job to look at what their kids playing online as well, to regulate their play time or stay away from games that might and/or cause harm to the kids.
If this continues Rovio's Battle Bay will be rating mature 17+ on Google play and not rate everyone!

Which is why every single person reported doing this are banned permanently from the game without any exceptions.

Banning means that you're taking the action but it's far from enough. There should be a report for these sexual post in chatroom and it should take precedence over all other reports. I recommended having moderators to help you guys out with this as this sort of chat behaviors require human judgements. I am just recently using the chatroom but have seen some sex predators and post of porn sites. I did my job of reporting it with comments but how many reports are going to be needed before something get done? Rovio is threading on dangerous water here that needs to make this it highest priority before something happens. At the very least, the kids are seeing porn sites they probably don't know of. Do something about it ASAP.

Better question is how do you prevent them from just creating another account and continue trolling?

Blacklist the devices they're using. GameLoft is doing it for Asphalt 8: Ariborne.

Thanks for the response. To me, the current abuse mitigation methods can only become increasingly unmanageable, requiring ever-more admins to keep up. Automatic muting solves that problem by changing admin roles into proactive ones, rather than reactive. Instead of filtering through per-instance reports, you'd be reviewing potentially abusive players. These trolls seldom contribute anything of value, so it should make your jobs much easier.

It's also possible to mitigate abuse of automatic policing measures with smart algorithms. If you know how many players have the chat window open, for example, that gives you a good baseline for defining the percentage of reports necessary to automatically mute abusive players. It *might* be possible to abuse such a reporting mechanism to silence unpopular players, but it seems unlikely. That level of coordination doesn't usually exist in global channels online.

A manual mute player feature would be nice, but all that really does is codify ignoring the problem. There's no guarantee that the most vulnerable in the community would use it to silence those trying to do them harm.

It's a tough problem, but it's also a very serious one. Unfortunately, I don't see it improving much until some serious adjustments are made.

    Thanks again!

There is a program that Rovio can add to chat, its a little bit that reads all chat and catches any sexual misconduct, then it sends it to the police/FBI. Most chat sites have them in place. Even some police or agents make accounts to catch (stupid sex offenders) at chat like these. The program also tracks their ip address to where they are located. So I suggest Rovio install this program immediately, you can get it from gov of course need to go through little red n yellow tape but in the long run it be safer for everyone.

Right....But kids are the one, who abuse most of the time, because they think of it as fun abusing others. Today's kids...U know.

Thus the more reason they should be banned. If their parents won't punish them then they'll have to get punished by bans. Maybe that way they'll learn something.

Global chat is there to discuss the game..find guild members..people to fleet up with..and general chat.
You couldn't "chat" in the forum while playing and besides..it would clog up the forum if thousands used it for chat..hence multiple chat rooms.

While almost all of you are talking about protecting the "innocent" kids. 3/4 times they are saying this stuff because they think it's funny... and last time i checked you had to be atleast 13 to play this game (correct me if i'm wrong), and by that age you should know how to protect yourself against online predators etc.

Yes.. you're right..it is mainly kids..but Wishaal seemed to answer that perfectly.
The MAIN issue we're trying to stop is the sexual content..again it COULD be kids that are doing it..BUT it might not be. Anyone is any age behind a keyboard and as others have mentioned..sexual predators use these chat rooms.

Here is the problem though..how do you KNOW how old the person is..that is trawling chat rooms?
Not sure why you assume that kids of 13 should know how to protect against online predators..yes it is taught in some countries..but as I've said before..kids are very susceptible.
Kids are taught that drugs are bad..but thousands if not more start using them.
