Rovio Devs: The Ultra League

The nightmare league is already, what? 0.000001% of the user base? Assuming like, 2 Million accounts (not players) and there being, what 200 people in NM? Maybe 50 active...

So no, id rather have dev time go into to something everyone (pr more, anyway) can enjoy

Point 2..
As a reasonable spender, a dolphin perhaps, the gap between dolphins and whales is already so significant, that no, id rather not give the uber whales anyhting else - at this time. Later? Perhaps, but there is way more important balancing to do in the 2k+ range than at 5k+

 

You do realize all they have to do is:

1. Do a new graphic for Ultra League
2. Do new icons for new Legendary perks
3. A small amount of coding to apply the perks
4. A small amount of coding to apply the new league stats.

They all ready have the code base for #3 and #4. They came out with a small update to the MKs in the MK7. Obviously that was for the 1% of us. Less probably. Whales matter. Ask any Las Vegas Casino. So yeah they need to keep us "high rollers" happy. Because i don't know how many times being reset with nowhere to go will keep me and some of the others interested. We need more than new maps... we need progression and goals.

Adding a new league to the game sounds like a good idea, if the top players of every season are made to reset to 4k and start all over again, then the new players who enter nightmare will have it real rough.

This is bad news for everybody who seeks to improve their infamy every season. However, calling it ultra league sounds lame, we should call it something else.

But giving you guys exclusive access to legendary perks is going too far, maybe just get 160%-180% bonus or something?

And all the season toppers can get legendary pieces or something, no 1 can get an item, number 2 gets 7 pieces, 3 gets 5 pieces, everybody else till 10 gets 3 pieces and so on. (If that's too op then nobody gets items and everybody gets pieces)

Having more leagues will increase the distance between the people at the bottom and the top but I don't see how that's wrong. It adds depth to the game and all of us can get scope for more growth.

Increasing the distance between the lower level and higher level players would only mean there would be lesser chances of them being matched against each other.

However yes, idk how many players are at the nightmare league currently and I'm not sure if it will make it harder to match players

 

I don't think so, if there's a league above nightmare and the player you talk off are as op as you claim they are, these players will climb to the new league and their infamy wouldn't be reset to 4k.

Chances of those players being matched againt the nightmare league players keep decreasing as more and more players climb higher in infamy than 4k.

The aces will only be matched with the previously lower level nightmare players

 

Please don't turn a mere discussion into a dig at somebody's character or playstyle, you may not agree with his suggestions but that doesn't merit you degrading him.

Your feelings towards p2p style is like vegans hating non vegans. You don't wanna pay, don't pay. If you have a problem with p2p then take it up with rovio, not the players.

What you are doing right now is kinda similar to criminalizing a rape victim (Lame example, I know but meh).

Nobody demanded a p2p option, it was provided by rovio.

 

Ultra is just what i came up with. If they did a new league i'm sure they'd pick their own name.

We already do get a Legendary item piece every season.

And to answer your most recent response... It doesn't matter if Orpheus has 4800 infamy points or 10,000 points. He's still the same player. At that point it's just a matter of bragging rights. He would still play in nightmare league. Having higher infamy doesn't bestow magical abilities. I still killed him 3 games ago today.

Then what do Ultra players "shoot for"? It all has to end somewhere. There are other ways to keep the top tier grinding, the devs have probably studied these in dev school (seriously).

 

You didn't get it

Having more or less infamy matters cause infamy is how players are matched. A player with 5k infamy being promoted to an higher league instead of being forced to reset means that the next batch of 4k players will have lesser chances of running into those players.

This in turn will make the nightmare league a wee bit less unfair (You were in the nightmare league for longer and that means you are probably stronger than the newest entry).

So yes, infamy matters, if I was forced to reset my infamy to 600 right now, it'd be unfair and hard for all players in that range.

As for your argument about item pieces, how about you suggest legendary items instead of mere pieces then?

 

Actually you don't get it. Nightmare players already play with Ace players. Ultra players would still be considered Nightmare players for match-making.

 

Players are matched by infamy, not leagues, it doesn't matter what league you consider your ultra players to be in, if the infamy reset cap is increased, then the better players keep climbing up.

They won't be matched with ace players unless the aces are really good and are at their infamy or if the nightmares really suck and are down to ace level infamy
