Revival of Mortars after the update?

With the major speeder nerf, could we expect a significant reduction in speeders?

If so, we could expect higher usage of mortars

And maybe frost launchers and firebombs.

I don't know wether it's because the update or not, but yesterday and today I saw ALOT of people with ALOT mortars. A few days ago you didn't see alot of mortars in the 2300 infamy range, but now everywhere you look you'll see mortar shots.

 

Yup I am encountering a WHOLE lot more meteor shower loadouts.

 

My infamy was 1850 and now 1420. THEY'RE MORTAR camping too much. :/

 

This isn't fun anymore, just mindless mortar spamming everywhere. Mortars are easy to counter... IF the rest of your team works with you. But now matches are decided by wich team got the stronger mortars.

 

Noooo indirectly affecting us fixers trying to keep the team together..speeders come back!!!!

 

As a enforcer, my life is hell, i'm constantly dodging those damn mortars.... can't do my job becuase im stuck behind a rock!

I think it is clear that the devs wanted there to be a stupid amount of mortars in the game and I don't really agree with it. Think about it, why else would they put:

Standard mortar
Long range mortar
Ballpark mortar
Big Bertha
Fire bomb
(not sure if I should count napalm)

 

Standard cannon
Blast cannon
Explosive cannon
Sniper cannon
Carronade
(off the top of my head)

 

Are all way more affected by waves and the prevalent terrain. Carronade is the equivalent of grenade launcher which wasn't included.

 

lmao can't argue with this logic.

Mortars are affected by ceilings/structures above.

 

But there are way less of those than things you can sit behind where a cannon can't get you but you can still shoot a mortar.

 

It's definitely mortar bay right now. The top damagers all have Bertha and/or Firebomb.
