While I'm glad that apologies have been issued, I still edited out the "details" of the specific language used. No one needs to read that, and we can read the edit history if we want the exact phrasing.

Reports are always reviewed. If there is someone who is particularly offensive, report them in-game AND send a PM to myself or another staff member.

I'm glad this issue got resolved amicably on both sides. Thanks, @CaffeinatedChris for the heavy editing!

Sorry man, that sucks. Personally, i have never seen this kind of harassing, my chat is peaceful. But the best thing you can do is to keep reporting, and even blocking the abusive people.
And in extreme cases you can contact rovio directly.
But how do you know they’re not getting banned?

    Thanks for your understanding!

I know some of them did not get a ban, because they show up everyday with the same account. And some of them even said they don't care they got reported, because they have been reported before and are still here. They laughed in our face. One of the worst bullies came back last week with his old accountant. He has picked up so many fights, insulted so many people, said such foul things and then I expect in such cases their account will be delete, but no. I don't say everyone should have the account closed, but there are a few, which definately should get a permanet ban.

Ms.Jazmella reported a guy who calls himself F..ker even said he has been reported, but he was laughing because he was still here after months. Another guy calls himself royal c..ksucker, has an infamy of at least a 1000 and has a mk4 boat, so he has been around for many months. And there are others also. Instead of people report these them, many said 'I like your name'. Sigh!

I know some people got banned, but also others who have not. And I don't say the report button is a joke, but some of these abuser act like it is. Maybe my reaction was a little too harsh, but the last couple of days the was a lot of verbal abuse again. And trust me I can take a joke, but if the chat is dominated by some pervs, then it gets very frustrating.

Am sorry I posted some of the things they said here, I did not want to, but I wanted to help to keep, the game clean and free of pervs and bullies. And maybe I report more than others, but I kmow first hand what harassment can do to others, I have seen many kids suffer of this.

I also have edited the first post a bit. Here in the Netherlands they say when youbget angry 'count to ten first, before you say or do something'.

I am sorry I did not, but all I wanted is to help keep the chat a place a fun for all of us. Maybe my methods should have been different?

I'm also one of those people who report spam anyone who does some serious rudery. Trolling is okay, so is trash talk, but when it goes waaay beyond that, I try my best to stop the fight from continuing. Nowadays, however, due to the "next battle" function, I police the chat a LOT less. So yeah. Report, block, pray.

    Double peace!

Like your opinion, I am also curious how the reports have been treated. And I understand that devs have to probably review each one-by-one. There should be some way to reduce the amount of the report. For example, we can report floating. Why dont BB just automatically prohibit the floater to do next attack in, e.g., 10 mins? For the first step, we can classify people who do not move at all as floaters. I believe the number of report can be reduced and are reserved for something more important.

I think that is a good idea. Someday I come across floaters in 30% of the battles. I don't play many battle a day due to health issues, so maybe people who play 50 to a 100 battles have less. But it suprises me how many floaters I come across.

Now there is also floater which move 5 meters at the end of the battle. So, these then won't be picked up. I have seen it several times, as soon as you take him out as the last one standing in the came, then he or she fires back. Are these cheaters? A different topic I know.

Would this be a complete list for reporting someone:

    - Obscene comments or name
    - Bullying
    - Sexual harassment (which happens, sadly enough. Boys bothering girls, but just a while a go a man was looking for young boys)
    - Floating
    - Cheating
    - Spamming
    - Other

Maybe we can help and take some of the work load upon as players? So, certain certified players can report people, so when they report people then these reports are highlighted? Then it is easier to sift through for the people at Rovio.

Regarding to the inappropriate chat, I reported and blocked. This save my mood a lot. When people becomes online, I believe they tend to loose a bit. Therefore, if I take it seriously, I will get crazy.

You are so right. I often block too, but I want also to know what they are doing in case it gets out of hand. Maybe it is just my age that I am watching over you youngster :)

If the Rovio team is overwhelmed by the number of reports, why don't they allow the MVPs to review the reports as well?? @TheAntiSnipe, @CaffeinatedChris, etc have been trusted to moderate the forums. Moderating the in-game chat and report system is not that much more.

It increases the chances of misuse of power... Or we'd be happy to moderate chat... I call dibs on chillzone;)

And? If you misuse your power they just fire you. Not saying they should do it... But if they are truly overburdened by the number of reports, then it is a possible solution.

I'd love policing the chat when I have the time, it reassures the people who are online when they see reports handled in seconds.

Also add the fact that I'm pretty sure the dev team does not speak all of the languages that are in chat... So it takes them even longer to review other languages. Having a couple of mods that speak these languages would reduce their workload.

There could easily be a check and balance system....
    1. Report filed
    2. MVP reviews report.
    3. If report is not worthy of action, then the MVP stores it in the player's file and nothing happens.
    4. If the report is worthy of action, then the MVP selects the action they feel is appropriate.
    5. At that time, the report either goes to second MVP for checking or straight to the dev team to review. If it goes to a second MVP, then they check it and either agree or disagree with the first MVP.
    6. Then if an action needs to be made, the report goes to the dev team to actually ban or punish this player.

This would act as a filter for reports so that the dev team only has to review the ones that are deemed punishable. And the review of the second MVP and the dev team can serve to review what the first MVP is doing to make sure they aren't abusing it.

Of course this might be a non-issue and @TheGrimRepair might be a superhuman capable of sorting through reports like Bruce Almighty does prayers. :p

Technologically it's likely more difficult than just setting the "Allow permissions to do X, Y, Z" - we'd need access to the interface, perhaps a dev build of the application in order to directly issue them, etc. There's also the issue of while we've been entrusted with moderating the forums, a forum ban or locked post doesn't directly impact someone's ability to play the game or use a feature (eg: chat) and that's a big leap of trust to make from "user is no longer allowed to troll people on the Internet" versus "user is unable to play our game." I imagine @The Grim Repair would appreciate the assistance but it's definitely not something that's going to be given out lightly if ever.

I agree. It would have to be carefully delivered. I only suggest it as a last-resort if the development team's progress is being hindered by the number of times I report people. ;)

And my suggestion didn't allow MVPs to ban anybody. All it does is filter the crap reports out and only pass through the punishable reports or the repeated offenses.

Just catching up on that now. Yes, a method similar to the "Tribunal" in other MOBAs would probably work well, where the extent of MVP involvement is "review report, highlight areas that justify punishment, forward to admin for sentencing" as that would still leave final judgment up to Rovio HQ.
