Rail gun tips?

I like the long range of the rail gun but am missing 50% of me shots. Anyone want to share their experience? thanks in advance for any help

 

just shoot on the stationary targets, if they move. then dont shoot, you will likely to missed.
His the target if they are slowed.

 

I'm one of those rare speeders to still use railgun. I say you can still try to shoot moving targets even from far away but then make sure to read waves carefully - they are the main reason your shots fail. Also see which direction the enemy is moving, because targets who are moving directly towards you or away from you are the easiest targets (fast horizontal movement makes the shot leading much harder).

Finally like Mammoth said, if you have yellow slots in your boat, railgun is good to use with frost so that they slow down a little and make your aiming easier.
