*laugh* Honestly, I used to. Back when I could afford to do so I'd routinely mount a U20 item on my M4 shooter and muscle through an off-quest. Or I'd drag out my M2 fixer do handle the fixer quest. I learned I probably like enfo's literally by putting whatever R1 gear I had on my M2 enfo to finish a quest.

All of that is a thing of the past though. It is everything I can do to hang on by my fingernails at my current infamy. The idea that I could bring a substandard set of gear into these matches and somehow win is a reach. So now I wouldn't even dream of using a weapon in an infamy match unless that weapon was R40 or better. For skill reasons, I wouldn't dream of driving a boat that wasn't substantially similar to my speeder. So I'd swap to an enfo (and I'm leveling that guy up now). But I avoid going back to the shooter and there's no way I could even consider fixer/defender.

All of this is driven by the seal clubbing penalty. Insofar as any of us understand it, you have an 800 point window from your career high. Just random infamy swings consume 550 points of that. So there's a 250 point window to play in. That really leaves little room for "sub-optimal" unless you weren't already playing at your max.

As far as swapping out weapons, you can only really do so with shooter and not get pummeled.

Lol, I thought that I'd lost this thread or that I was going crazy... somebody had just moved it.
