New event 1v1 duels

Direct quote from Miika on June 4: "Infamy is not used to pick the players entering the battle but it is part of the equation in balancing teams." from page 32 of the 3.0 patch notes

 

That's the quote i was thinking about. I guess i didn't catch the back end. However given that they are sticking us with 2100 players, i'm inclined to think it's not much of a factor. I guess if both sides have 2100 players then it would be a factor in balancing.

 

so no epic perks , iam glad that i didnt spend my last event coins , i have 601 coins now

You can fit different legendary perks on the same weapon

This sounds like a great event and finally there ain't gonna be rant threads about bad teammates.

But new rewards system is worrying me.. If they say every 10th box gives guaranteed epic, does that mean we are:
1) not going to have guaranteed legendary perks anymore?
2) going to get useless uncommon and rare perks 9 times out of 10 when purchasing the perk box?

It may still be : purchase enough boxes to get legendary, besides we can now get pieces and parts!

So with this event, what is going to stop people from using bandaids, counting into event matches and then farming rivalry quests? Another thing that wasn't fully thought about. At least the farming isn't as bad when there are other people in the matches.

 

A new map maybe with no place to hide?

It will be a huge disadvantage for defender and shooter to play hide and seek / cat and mouse with ship with yellow items.

 

We'll actually be hoping against hope that there's a floater in our game…

 

Everyone on here is worried about being fair...in all honesty I worried that someone is going to get 1 kill then run away the entire time and you can't catch them. most defenders are faster than shooters by a small margin with lots of blue slots to heal. 1v1 is going to be nasty I'm not really happy with it

 

And at that point, balancing teams is the make-or-break matchmaking algorithm.

 

To solve that the matches are all on small maps, with capture.
