I am posting this under the support thread as an opinion for improving matchmaking and with it the overall enjoyment of the game.
For starters the game is a Pay to WIN. We all know this and it makes it a bit difficult when you are competing against someone with 4 legendary weapons. Even in the forums you read about a player boasting about her new legendary item and she's been playing 3 days... Perhaps Matchmaking should also take into account the weapons and not just the infamy range. That was more of a side thought.

The more realistic option is trying to better match up boat classes. There is nothing like going against a Team with two Fixers and Your team has none. I know its not always the case and sometimes those fixers are on your team but I feel that of all the matches I have played teams with fixers usually come out ahead. All ships are capable of doing damage and all ships bring an strengths and weaknesses to the game but the ability to keep essentially make all the opposing teams damage null is... well unfair. Perhaps if there were better options for communicating pre and in game.

Of all that I just suggest teams should have even number of fixers.

I guess it is possible to win against 2 Fixers, but your team must know how to do it and also execute it together. These are the facts:

    1. The damage output of your team is higher.
    2. Time works against your team, because over time, the enemy team has more HP (they heal the lost HP).

So, it's obvious: You have to quickly try to kill enemy boats and use fact #1 before fact #2 kicks in. Unfortunately, a lot of players don't realize this and try to sit back while fact #2 does slowly away with their initial advantage. And yes, having only half of your team doing a full-frontal attack will most of the time end as a disaster.

but with one good fixer, the defernce between damage and healing is erelevant.
th fixerless side will always lose, unless it hass a crapy fixer that blocks your shots.

I went through my last 150'ish games to show how the uneven fixer = unfair match is not a reality.

Check it here if you want:
    https://forum.battlebay.net/threads/equal-number-of-fixers-on-both-sides-if-any.9922/

    A quick summary:
Here's my last 152 games (ignoring draws).
    1 Fixer vs 0 Fixer = 25 wins, 24 losses [51% win rate].
    2 Fixer vs 0 Fixer = 5 wins, 4 losses [56% win rate]
    2 Fixer vs 1 Fixer = 17 wins, 18 losses [49% win rate]
    3 Fixer vs 1 Fixer = 0 wins, 2 losses [0% win rate]

Combined for all teams with higher fixers than opposing side: 47wins, 48 losses [49.5% win rate].

roughly 50% win/lose ratio. am shocked!

edit: doesn't matter which side has how many fixers. if you're in the underdog team, there is a high chance you will lose...

Thank you for the very concrete demonstration! It nicely shows that the matchmaking is actually in perfect balance, as out of those battles it would have been impossible to create more even end result. (Except on the 3vs1 ending in 1-1 but only 2 battles are not statistically meaningful anyways.)

I have commented few times in various threads that if we'd see from the data that those matches would actually be unfair enough we would prevent the matchmaking from creating them. But the reality is that they are as even as any other battles are too, but just adds more variety into the game play because you need to play differently, so we have left them in. It's part of the skill element to know how to play with or against a fixer or two.

I would say overall I am in agreement and understanding with these responses.
As implied I think skill level is definitely the culprat. I have found much improvement if I make fixers my target and try to eliminate them quickly.

Also...it is pay to rise in infamy. The mm makes it nearly impossible to win over 50% for the vast majority of players. Pay or no pay; you will hit a law of averages wall eventually.
