Indeed it is. It is hard to be the only mk1 between 9 mk5s. You feel the Unfriends staring at you 'look, an easy kill', just like sharks pick the weakest fish out of a shoal.

People care more about the quests and the Raffle, then they do about a fair and honest battle. Some people don't believe that, but it is true. They are more concerned by the goodies they can win with the Raffle, then that they win battles.

This can be solved with a minimum Infamy for every mk ship. Lets say a mk5 cannot go below 1500 Infamy or so. And the incentives for the quests should be different too.

And winning or losing 24, 23 and 1 Infamy is too limited. A mk5 with an Infamy of 50 is rewarded 24 points when he or she wins from a bunch of mk1 and mk2s.

does anyone notice abnormalities when trying to crack infamy milestones???
for ex. my high infamy is 3861, before I cracked 3800, I made it to about 3790 then dropped down to the mid 3300's then back up and past 3800. this happened to me repeatedly.. happened at 3700, 3600 3500 3400 etc. etc. etc.....
my issue is that I am noticing (or at least it seems like) drastic match making changes when I am closing in on the new high infamy. Teams go from fairly decent and balanced to lob sided, I start seeing more floaters or suicide player (BOTS? WTF). And then start the loosing streaks, 10-15 straight matches, 15 of 20 and so on.... drop more than 300 infamy in a less than 2 hours.
After I crack it the milestone I seem to float around that infamy level for a good while (loose and win matches NORMALLY) until again the bad match making starts again and the same cycle.

from feedback I get from other friends, I am not the only that feels this way...

I have noticed that too, looks like you hit a ceiling and then you are wiped away battle after battle. It happens with me around 1100-1300.

I try not moan about a game but damn! HahHaHa,
I just really want to get feedback and a better understanding of the way things work.
because it is frustrating when you see the match ups where top tier players have an MK7 fixer on their team, while your team does not....its like looking at an automatic loss.. Or having a friendly MK5 fixer (with inferior healing capabilities) against a team stacked with MK6 and 7's... again...automatic loss.
I get it, the system is not perfect but that infamy defense makes no sense sometimes.

IE: I was paired with two MK7 defenders at around 4100k infamy, the other 3 players were 3.3k all the while the opposing team were all at 3900 infamy.. and I have repeatedly seen this... it is a clear example that it is not only infamy that goes into consideration when matchmaking...

I'm not sure I consider six games a "streak" of any sort. I consider it a streak when I've dropped more than 200 infamy so that'd be 8 matches in a row. I consider it a serious streak when it's 500 infamy or 40 matches in a row.

My observation is that matchmaking is horribly screwed up in the 0-1500 infamy range. From 1500-2500 it seems to get a lot more sane... probably because that's where the most players are so the MM system has the most to draw from. What "frustrated" me was not that things got harder when I went up in infamy (I'm not sure they did). Rather, it was rewards decreasing for winning that got to me.

Now that the MM system is performing reasonably for me that's exactly the behavior I see. My skill has brought me up to a certain point and then I start bumping my nose on that ceiling. Despite being seriously undergeared for the matches I fight clearly my presence is enough to carry a team to 2300 infamy but not 2400. I don't attribute my failure to go up from there as a problem with the MM system or with the other players. I interpret it as the need for me to get better.

We just got a mk6 in the Unfriends team, which had 3x level 50 rare rail guns with perks, which did more than a 1000 damage per shot. He killed me in too and so did he kill all of us.

I post the screenshot later. But it was complete madness to place a mk6 with that kind of weapons in our league with mk3 to mk5! And he was not a great player, if he or she was, then you are not stuck at around a 1000 Infamy. So, you see that a mediocre player with such weapons can cause mayhem. So, yes it is unbalanced in some cases. Don't know why that is.

Here is the screenshot of the mk6 players with 3 level 50 rare railguns including perks. 2 shots and I was dead, so he these weapons do over a 1000 hp, because the mk4 Speeder was gone in 1 shot.

Not really a fair game, he or she could have won on his or her own with two Fixers to help. Screenshot_2018-03-27-13-18-18.jpg Screenshot_2018-03-26-18-47-29.jpg

You'll change your mind once you will reach level 40 and upgrade your ship to MK6

Matchmaking is fine. Seal clubbing is not. Gear score has got to be used to set a minimum infamy.

I hope that gear score will be used in the matchmaking. I don't see any other practical use of it.
Seal clubbing is intentionally included by the devs to this game in form of nightmare league infamy reset.

Maybe a minium Infamy like others have opted before, so a mk6 can't go below 1500 or 2000 Infamy.

I would hardly call players that are high enough infamy to get matched with 4k+ players "seals". Seal-clubbing is when players go down to low infamy (<1500ish) to target new players.

And this is exactly what happens after infamy reset: nightmare league newcomers meet players, whose actual infamy level is over 5k

I said under 1500 infamy. It is not seal-clubbing for a 5k player to play a 3.5k player. I love matching up with/against them. It'd be like playing a pick-up game with Lebron. Sign me up.

Yes, you said said under 1500, but you also said that definition of seal clubbing is "when players go down to low infamy" and for a 6k player 4k infamy after reset is "low infamy"

If you'd like to argue against the nightmare league reset, then please make another thread for it. That is a separate topic and completely detached from what most would consider "seal-clubbing". Please don't call it "seal-clubbing" either, because that is going to confuse readers since everyone refers to seal-clubbing as what I have defined.

I don't care to argue over if it is good or bad here. I think it is a minor problem compared to stopping the real seal-clubbing of new players, which makes them quit the game and slows the income of new players. But I would be interested in reading your points about it (in a new thread).

I don't want to argue about the reset, especially as you noted, this is not a topic for that, I'm fine with it.

I doubt very much that seal clubbing for everyone means infamy tanking exactly under 1500, but I can't tell everyone's opinion.

What I wanted to say is that the infamy dropping happens not only because of players, that intentionally go down, but also because of the game itself in form of the reset
