I promise I’m not seal clubbing

47B1E923-9E6F-4C3F-B23C-44FE45CA185C.jpeg ive had a miserable 3 weeks infamy wise, and have dropped around 900 infamy. I haven’t been this low for several months. The game thinks I’m tanking, and I’m totally getting hosed on stars and coins. If there’s any way a dev could look at my lost battles over this time period, they would definitely see that I was one of the top 2 damage dealers probably about 80% of the time, and I can’t think of a single time I had such a low score that I’d even be reported for floating. During that time, they’d also see that I reported many others for floating (part of the reason for losses). There’s no data to support that I’m tanking except my overall infamy.
This is totally disheartening, as I really like this game, but I feel like the odds are stacked against me. I bust my butt, and am given very little reward. It makes it very difficult to want to continue to play. I have been VIP for almost a year and am totally vested in this game. Thanks for your consideration.

Doesn't matter if you aren't seal clubbing. Rovio's system is there to punish innocent players who are having bad luck aswell

That’s really sad to here :( A big part of it might’ve been the nightmare reset. Only thing you can do is take a break and play more event mode I guess.
But look on the good (kind of) side! Usually losing streak = later winning streak.

I’ve always approached infamy drops as an opportunity to do well and have taken them in stride, but this is different. I get few, if any stars when I play, and for the event, I get reduced coins as well. Since I’m going to continue to get hosed in both types of battles until my infamy gets restored, I have to try to find fixers in this new infamy range to help me climb out in regular battles.

Good luck. Once your marked as a seal clubber it's really hard to get out. Most people have to wait a month for the penalty to go away lol

Anyone know how far up I have to climb? Is it a raw number (eg 600 lower than the high), or it a percentage of the number that determines when I no longer have this scarlet letter?

800 infamy below your high is when the system decides that you’re tanking.

What was your highest infamy out of this season and last season. Whichever is higher you have to be at over 800 under that.

For example - if your highest last season was 3900 you have to be over 3100 for rewards

Every time I hear one of these stories, I always feel sorry for the player, as I similarly innocently fell foul of the anti tanking rules after hitting a large losing streak after upgrading to Mk6. It isn’t fun, and can demoralise people very quickly. It is a shame that the actions of seal clubbers is negatively impacting upon genuine players.

I’ve never heard of anyone being able to challenge the rule, so its likely going to be up to you to get yourself out of it. The good news is that it appears that you are only 100 infamy points away (about 4 wins) from getting full rewards restored.

    Here are my tips:
    • Fleet with someone from your guild (or who you know) who has a similar infamy and mark ship to yourself (this only leaves you 3 teammates to worry about). If possible, a fixer would be preferable.
    • Think of it this way, you have a ‘true’ infamy (the infamy level you’re capable of performing at) and your ‘actual/current’ infamy. Your true infamy will be higher than your current infamy, and so even though there will be a player on the other team who has a similar current infamy to you, the chances are your true infamy will be higher, which gives your team an advantage.
    • To benefit from that advantage, you need to stay alive as long as possible in the battle. Getting yourself quickly killed negates that advantage, hence why fleeting with a similar infamy fixer would be the most preferential fleet partner, especially if they focus on keeping you alive.
    • If you start losing again, take a short break.
    • Try to work out if there’s a time of day when you play best. I’m a morning person, and so my losing streaks tend to happen in the evening. I therefore don’t play much in the evening.
    • Play your best weapons. Playing weapons which suit guild rivalries can wait.
Good luck. Hope you get that infamy back soon.

Every time I hear one of these I feel sorry for Rovio. Because they actually think this prevents people from seal clubbing when really it hits more innocent players than actual players who seal club. And the players who do seal club are not effected by this at all because they know how to get around it:

I raised this issue way back in February I guess. When the stun nerf came exactly after that. I lost straight 1300 points in 3 days. Even though I was last man standing, taking as many opponents out but I simply couldn't win there was no way out of down spiral. I tried to switch weapons, tried enforcer (current meta ship) it took me 2 seasons and a mk6 upgrade to get back to where I was. After reaching 3900+ and staying there for 2 seasons again the bad luck hit me lost 800 again now again crawling my way back to where I was:(.
I usually play in mornings and after 9 pm it usually works fine for me but while negative spiral is going on I can't win anything.

    I agree.
Seal clubbers are not bothered by rewards or by trying to be the best player they can. They can use real cash to get around lack of rewards until the game resets their infamy high. They only care about getting easy wins.

The OP was likely caught in the aftermath of the Nightmare Reset... The other common situation for unintentional infamy loss is the upgrade to MK6... because upgrades make you less powerful? The former was designed to give Nightmare players something to do, overlooking its many side effects. The latter is a side effect of an overly convoluted matchmaking system. All one can do is keep plugging away to get back up.

I was around 3300 3 seasons ago. I am often the last one standing, partially since I play a ranged game. Like I said, usually in the top 2 damage dealers per match, so it’s not like I can’t hit enemies. The difficulty now for me is that I”m desperately trying to add new fixer friends as I continue to spiral down the infamy toilet since I have no friends at this lower level. Just hit a new low tonight, now am at about 1000 below where I was. Pathetic, and I am just about done with this game. Since about 2500 level, where I haven’t been since around Christmas, now I”m getting floaters on my team every 4th match, which screws me even more. I’ve reported every single one of them. Funny how the other team gets a floater every 12th match or so.

I forgot to mention that the 3weeks prior to the super slide I jumped from 2700 to 3300

I had it happen to me too, after the EC and Tesla Bolt nerf, same as @Shadow Moon.

I was at 3.1k, and dropped to 2k. No matter how well I played, I just couldn’t seem to win a game.

The most annoying part is that I was still in my mk5, half my opponents were mk6s... yet I’m the one being punished for “seal clubbing”. The system is a joke.

    Some highlights from my fall...

Same thing is happening to me this season too. Can't get out of 3543 loop:(. I have been at this infamy since Friday. I win 1 I lose 1. If I managed to get to 3570 I lose 2 then again win 1 lose 1:rolleyes:
