Current Shop System, does it suck?

Really??? Smile Shark uses tier 4 epics i mean that is pretty amazingly good stuff.

 

Hey, I was watching WarNet too the other day! His little baby fixer is cute. Let me assure you, there is a TON of nuance to the game at the higher levels, and a good deal of strategy, tactics and mind games as well that you don't see at lower levels. If he was charging, it was because there was more value to him attacking than him healing. I wouldn't question the tactics of Hodges, I'd learn from him, he's one of the smartest fixers in the game.

And yea, that's my point! After playing for over a year and a half, even Smile Shark doesn't have a t5 weapon. And look at what he can do! He's incredible. It's not only about weapons. Skill plays a major part. So if you can't get ultimate weapons, try and get ultimate skills instead while you wait! It's wayyyy more constructive than whining on a forum.

 

Another note yes tier 5 epics are possible before global launch because that update came about a month before global launch i have played quite a bit of battle bay (was level 20 but my account got destroyed after the explosive cannon update got back up to 1500 infamy with level 14 got so mad because of hard the hard matches i quit started again got to 24 now i am at level 26.

Nope. u get an epic piece and a legendary piece in Nightmare. I've been saving my pieces for the past... 5 weeks. And I now have 9 epics waiting to be built too, and I only spent mayyyybe 2 million gold to get them too thanks to all the rewards we all get from boxes, scrapping, and weekly quests.

9 epics, 2-3 million gold... that's a steal bro!

 

no, people are complaining they can't upgrade their canon to a t4 epic after 3 months. And I'm pointing out that some of the best players in the world, players who have played for 5x longer than them still haven't managed to get ultimate weapons either. Worry less about powerful weapons, whine less about the shop, and worry more about good tactics and smart play.

 

Yay my tier 2 rares and skill alone will get me to nightmare league... Wait what!?! i still can't compete with them for levels of weapons or experience in battle bay. Possibly tier 4 rares and mark 5-6 but i don't think i will have that for a while.

 

Okay apart from the legendary piece the rewards arent that much lol.We here at master league get an epic piece too but if you come first.Im at captain level 22 and have two epics atm but I dont use them.I just wish the gold rewards were more because I cant buy these expensive perks that are dropping a lot in my shop lately.Epic pieces drop too but I buy them maybe 3 out of 10 times because of gold shortage.All my gold goes into getting rare parts in the shop

 

Max T4 Epic is as good as a T2 Legendary Item. I don't see that as a severe gimp at any way. Your examples of players are all soft launch players. Why don't you talk about P2W players then and tell us how much skill they have.

 

Infact, look at my build. I have neither a legendary, nor even a T2+ Epic. I'm 6 months into the game and at 6K games. You can only gain resources & stars by playing games, for the sake of gaining experience and skill(your advice!), and yet I still cannot build any Epics. Which was my point since the beginning of this thread. Those more developed players have a clear advantage over the likes of me with many very powerful items that disable, immobilize, one-shot, and shield themselves with a ton of hp, shield which I cannot penetrate. So talking about MK6 players with T4 epics(who started way before I did) is still quite a ways away from me, yet all I'm left to do is to fight my way for 500-1000 more infamy to be playing with you boys.

Patience and determination is also a skill, which I have a lot of. And you also don't know where I've been before this, and after competitive gaming in many FPS shooters, I'll be where you are one day. What I would appreciate though is to not discredit my post or insult us (for being complainers or whiners) because we brought up a point that Rovio has infact changed their system that's better for their profitability.

 

Welllll.... don't get me started on p2w players. hehe. They keep the lights on in Rovio and keep my favorite game running. To pay to get ultimate weapons in this game takes ridiculous amounts of cash, and if they want to shell it out... more power to them! Time is money, money is time. Some don't mind spending time, others don't mind spending money.

Now, until they learn good strategy, tactics, and how to control the power they are just fodder for the real pro's cannons. There is so much nuance to this game, and so much to learn in terms of strategy. It will take a while. Some of them are showing promise though!

 

Bro, you have been playing for 6 months. They have been playing for 1 year and 6 months. What do you expect? Get back to me in one year. It sounds like your argument isn't the shop, rather it is the fact that others had a chance to play longer than you and you want to catch up to them.

The way to do that is easy, pay money in exchange for time. Otherwise just be patient.

If you can't build any epics, then you are doing something wrong old chap. In 5 weeks I collected 9 epics from rewards, boxes, and the shop. No real cash spent. So even if you collect at half that rate... you should still be building epics.

 

Am I doing anything wrong? I've collected about 6 epics(you can see them gloriously in my inventory, whoopee!), but all not part of my build and I don't need them. But spent 5 weeks collecting them for nothing. Cash spent, but still can't build epics that help my build. That's my point! Random items from random crates, from random parts don't help.

 

Ahh, I see. No I don't read the rants in the past 11 pages. haha. I'm about done with the thread too. I just couldn't resist poking earlier.

For you, just be patient. You are where I was at 6 months of playing. No good epics, and only rare weapons. With that setup, you will only be able to rise so far, which is totally fine and normal. So, be patient, and focus on your skills and strategies and just have fun where you are at. You will get some games with lower level players where you are the monster, some with higher level players where you are the baby, and some that are juuuuust right. It's how Battle Bay works and has always worked.

If you want to accelerate your growth and catch up with the big dawgs who have been playing for a year longer, then pay cash in exchange for time to get more weapons. That's how all these kinds of games work. Money = time.

Oh we know about the Time is money and money is time cash cow game development ROI, the same one that Supercell and Machine Zone has mastered. You got me thinking, maybe I should buy Rovio shares instead (damn, they aren't publicly traded!) ...

 

lol. Yea, Supercell and Machine Zone are indeed quite good at it as well. But hey, they make fun games! That's life in a mobile gaming world. It's the only business model that works in mobile.

And no, Rovio will never pay me or give me free pearls. I don't want them to either. If they did, I'd loose all my street cred!

 

Time and skillz. While you wait, focus on those strategies and tactics my man. There's a lot more to playing the game at higher levels than just leading your shots. That way, when better weapons come, you will be ready to use them right. Go blue!!

 

I didn't said i was an expert! At that time i had it at T2 and assumed it was possible to get to T5...
And no, i haven't looked at your videos, i might but don't want to sponsor bullies in any way.
As for money, i had spent only $35 USD and since i didn't liked the result, i haven't put any more, but i will if the system change and dump the damn RNG approach.
As for the ship, well i commited to defender since the begining and just now started to level up my fixer, but again it is a very long road ahead, because of the current system, and that is the problem you fail to see.
We had been in like 1 or 2 battles and from that you formed an opinion of me. I'm glad to say that now i'm able to take out @henrisonmd and other monsters of the bay, even with my disadvantage in gears and equipment.
Once again i tell you, put your self in our shoes instead of only calling us whiners, we have to speak up if want something to change. It is an awesome game and that is why we spend time posting this, because we will like to see it improved.
I'm not asking for your emphaty, just your acknowledge that the shop system has opportunities and should get improved.
