Seriously I'm getting sick of watching the idiot who suicided 5 times in a row get a star because he did slightly more damage than me who doesn't die once.

I agree, it's BS how the person responsible for giving half the points to the enemy gets a star for doing more damage.

I just posted this issue in Boosted 5v5. Very exact scenario @BasedCarpen was talking about too.

    Suggestion
    • Plus 1 star for the winning team using the current star system. Cap out at 3 stars so there will be no 4 stars battle. Example, got 1 star now equals 2, 2 now equals 3. 3 is still 3.
    • Minus 1 star for the losing team. So 1 star loss now become 0 star. 2 stars now become 1.
This will make people go for win more than damages. In the long run, the number of stars given out is slightly less than there are now but not that much. Only the 3 stars win lost a star but those are few too small though.

    Calculation
    • Current system: 10 games - 5 2-stars wins and 5 1-star losses = 15 stars
    • New system: still 15 star because those 5 wins are now 3-stars wins and 5 no star losses.

    speeder + 2 mines = 3 star wins, 2 star lose
    :)

i think max star is 2 and the 3rd star comes from the win. so do as much damage as possible even no kills.

Deaths shouldn't count, because some ships just die more than others by nature. Like me as a defender try to take all the damage because it's gonna take a lot more to take down my 9.5k how than it will to take down a 4k shooter. Meanwhile, other ships are selfish fixers are gonna die less. If deaths count, less people are gonna step up to the front because they know dying will penalize them, and battles will be more boring.

The key should be damage dealt - damage received.
So if your team lost and you dealt 40000 damage, and was top in your team you would earn 2 stars now, but if you had received 60000 damage and therefore caused the loss of your team you would be at -20000 damage and therefore no stars.
The current model encourages reckless suicide play.

Then defenders would get 0 stars like every time because they're meant to take damage for the team.

Yeah, defenders being tanks have a low damage/health ratio as mentioned before by someone(idk who xD)

    Wouldn't it favor mortar spamming?

Thats a fair point, the algorithm will have to be a bit more complex haha, but keep worshipping the 2 star "MVP" who dies 8 times out of 10, causing the team to lose needs fixing.

I agree, but how to make it fair for the one who does his job while his team spams long range stuff? Of course he dies more often than his teammates, but when it comes to real contribution, I'm pretty sure his team looks way better than they actually performed, and will look even better if you add deaths to the formula.

Kills done vs times died could factor in. Right now best practice is to panickly farm damage asap and worry less about whether your damage farming is helping the team win.

The Fixer ‘lifesaver’ highlight might also be worth factoring in.

But ultimately Id rather see them rotate events between different quest requirements & other things than deathmatches. That would naturally favour different boats, playstyles and players. That seems easier than trying to make every event 100% fair for everyone.

But yes, Deathmatch with stars doesnt do a good job of promoting teamplay.

Hey don't take away my star farming method :(

(really though, I agree, it's stupid that you can get top stars when dying most)

As pointed out. Most suggestions to factor in Deaths or Damage received. Penalize Defenders. And are Horrid.

Defenders are there to take damage.

And to be front line. And to die first most of the time.
In order for friends team to take advantage and pick off shooters and fixers.

As a defender I personally try to take out a shooter or fixer first. And then kill another boat before dying in deathmatch. Currently teams I was on in deathmatch have won 70% thru all 3 events. Also i have lead my team in kills for over 65%. On top I have the highest recorded Defender damage ever recorded in the Bay. 112k.

So why should I be penalized because U a player willingly enter
a match Called: Deathmatch. And never want to die. You are playing a different game. Go to Regular mode. This is where u go... to never die.

Deaths are supposed to happen in Deathmatch mode. And ReBirth is part of this. Rebirths are Tactic to be used.
And damage is how boats die.
Any option to reverse this mode.... will create all snipers and mortar layouts from Everyone. Including this Shark.

Next idea. Cuz this one was..... Ugh

Suggest other modes you would like the developers to do. But leave Deathmatch mode alone.

    Don't include death count.

No. It would favor not spamming explosive cannon in peoples faces until you die for the 4th time

Event is a bit boring to me, I see all the people hyped around, meanwhile I raise my infamy with a smile on my face, because all people got used to the respawn.
