Battles stars & Pearls

Does anyone know specifically how Battle Stars are attained?
in one fight i did 9471 in damage and got 3 kills, 1 Star
in another i did 7388 in damage and got 2 kills, 2 Stars.

Makes me wonder
The same goes with Pearls as well. Maximum i ever got was 5 -6 in one fight.
1 kill & 2 Stars 24,762 gold, 14,557 sugar, zero pearls
next fight after
0 kills, 1 Star, 25,726 gold, 14985 sugar, 1 pearl

Did more in the first kill & star wise and gained less. ???

 

1 star for winning
1 for contribute above average
1 for contribute 2x average
The exact definition of contribution is something that devs prefer to keep in secret (I assume they do that to avoid exploits of things that are not always good strategy but give us "contribution points", but I can be wrong )

Could someone of the crew create a thread about it on FAQs and guides? It'd be easier to redirect

 

I think it depend on your damage compared to others

,
if i did 5k in a battle when other players in my team did 6k-10k

And in another match i did 5k when all of my team did 15k damage ,

i shouldn't get the same reward , not the same efforet , and i didn't change the game destiny with the same %

The amount of pearls is not connected to contribution.

 

I think that's a bit outdated.
If you read the patch notes for version 2.8 (From Battle Bay with love), you will remember that under the Balancing, economy list, it said:

• Changed required contribution thresholds for stars to make it easier to gain them.

Which might have made modifications to the old system @Miika was taking about in your picture.

 

They probably just changed the formula for contribution but kept the same formula for stars.

Just need info for pearls

 

IIRC @Miika said that battle rewards (gold and sugar) are based on the total infamy and “gear score” (for lack of a better word) of all the ships in the battle.

It all goes into a pot at the start of the match, and then it’s devided up at the end.

I assume that goes for pearls too.

Pearls. are. random.
Someone posted a pic of a loss with 5 pearls.

 

100% random? Because the person who lost could have contributed more than anyone but still lose.

 

No, not 100% random , just not linked to contribution.
