Balancing Fire weapons

    Only you can prevent your own demise. You all know that the techniques to avoid mortars is the same technique to avoid FB, right? Use structures to your advantage. Players seem to lose their minds in TDM and forget basic strategy. You can protect yourself, even if you can't bash common sense into your teammates' heads.

    As for mines, the obvious counter to players putting a Mine force field around them is long range weapons, and that's why we are seeing lots of FB/Mortar/Napalm spam in TDM. It's not that one or the other is OP, it's just strategy. Fixing Mine duration during TDM is a necessary fix here if you don't want to see this. I'm seeing extra Frost as well, which boosts Mortars and Torps.

    The devs should turn all the weapons into the same weapon and all the ships into the same ship so no one will F’ing be unbalanced and complain ever again.

    Then we'll just be complaining about captain levels, ship levels, item levels, perks, currencies, cells, maps, matchmaking, events.... :p

    I said nearly no effort, not no effort, and I never said I got bullseye's with no effort either. Also, how am I to prove that it took no effort when the only thing I can show is a replay.

    I agree with the first two bullet points of point 1.

    Their damage is far too drawn out that the majority of the time you never see the full damage potential. This would also reduce the opportunity to increase cannon damage and gimped healing.

    I don't think there needs to be a touch to the cooldown though considering the damage outputs are dwarfed by the cannon / mortar counterparts.

    When I hit opponents on the edge of a FB ring, it only burns for a few seconds. I'm unclear why that is considered OP?

    Look at the durations on the shots that clearly hit outside the radius of the firebomb. Those are the major issue-causing shots imho.

    If the user was honest... Look, I was all for double bubble nerf being a DB user myself:D It was just that OP and overrepresented at the time. Again, here I am talking on a thread that calls for a flare nerf. I agree with the points presented! It is really versatile with no playoff other than range. And the balance presented is correct in that it leaves damage as it is, and it leaves the main motive of the weapon as it is. It simply prevents vast damage from occurring because someone made a mistake 15 seconds ago, which in my opinion is correct!

    i wasn’t after the nerf. i was after how he said it was used. if we’re talking about flare gun then i would agree it takes almost no effort but fire bomb? C’mon..
