I want you to forget everything that everyone has told you about how to play this game.
This is how you should play this game.
It is a certain mentality, and could also help you with life.
Lately in life, I have been very depressed. I have been a very successful performer and I get many accolades for every performance that I do.

Whenever someone says to me, “don’t let this go to your head,” I thought I knew what they meant. -“don’t get cocky”

Well I’m not wrong, but I’m only half way there.

You see, there happens to be another major part to success.
    The Fail Factor.

People can become so afraid to fail that they won’t even
    Try!

That’s why I have been in depression lately.

Everyday, you go into battle, hoping that you will win. And, if you’re a devoutly forum reader, you know that the mentality that you should have going into every match, is one of, “You’re not going to win every battle.”

I don’t like that. The subtext to that phrase is, “I’m not gonna win, so why try?”

Now I know what you’re gonna say, “I still try.” But no matter how hard you do, just the littlest bit of doubt can harm you.

That’s doubt, is what has been harming me, and putting me into this depressed funk.

I am well known by many people on the bay to be, “The Amazing Harpo!” or “Another Young Legend!” Or other stuff like that. Just a bunch of accolades.

So what happens, is that I get afraid of trying, because if I loose too much, then it doesn’t look like I’m that good.

So I’m gonna urge you, to not make the same mental mistake like me.

Instead. Go into every battle, every life choice, with the mentality, of a winner.

If you start thinking like you can win a battle, then you will.

Don’t stop trying! What do you have to loose?!

Not every lost, is a lost. You learn every battle how to play the map, how to use your weapons, your ship, and how to work with your team.

Never Stop Trying! The World is built off of Tryers, because Tryers become Winners.

For me, the losses don't phase me. But what I have recently noticed is that I've gone up quite a bit in infamy and I lack confidence at that infamy. So then when the matchmaking system beat me down 550 points for no reason I could discern I became afraid to play in anything other than the very best conditions... well rested, well exercised, well fed, quiet room, time to concentrate, etc.

It wasn't a few losses, it was a huge string of losses starting from a brand new infamy that caused my uncertainty. Even then I wouldn't care about losing except for the seal clubbing penalty. My answer was to ignore that penalty and just play the game. If I get caught by that rule then I'll go find another game to play.

In the end, Battle Bay is not about winning or losing for me. I love the combat engine. So long as the game offers me good matches that provide fun & challenging combats then I'm golden. Infamy means nothing in a P2W game.

I take a far less philosophical approach tho. I go into battle like, "There's no speeder faster than me. What do I have to fear?" Sure, it's cockiness. BUT, cockiness is a necessary factor in piloting a ship that regularly divebombs into enemy formations just to kill the fixer.

You have to love the matches where nobody appears to ever target you. I, far too often, find myself the Only ship being targeted.

The ones that utterly blow my mind are the times I go in among the enemy team, kill their fixer, and start my escape route only to notice that there are no bullets in the water and no mortar rings. WTF! HARD TURN ABOUT! KILL KILL KILL.

But how does that even happen? I'm zipping around among them. I'm running right in front of their cameras frequently. Their fixer just died. Through all of that nobody noticed me?

Those are the ones where I just go ahead and mop up the rest of the unfriends. But I will never understand how this happens.

Its a bit hard to do after a while. After 6 months at the same infamy I really dont try anymore, I go in just to fight knowing that I would probably lose.

Dude, I love you. You’re annoyingly funny that way. Lol. I just had to post this, because people are getting tired with the game. And I wanted to light the old spark that everyone had once upon a time.

The only time when you should NOT try is when the penalty for losing is death :p. Risk is too high
