No offence, but dont listen to the rumours

The only people who know the algorithm are Rovio, as they control everything.
Do you think Rovio would put out these rumours that they are fixing the boxes to give crap? Of course not.

So the only people who can be making up said rumours are random players just guessing what they think is happening with no proof of the claims.

 

State the obvious was exactly what I intended to do
Why are people listening to rumours when its clear that its just made up?
Statistics and facts I value, rumours not so much.
I agree the deals are expensive from my point of view, but everyone's perception of expensive is different.
Some people must be buying the deals for the prices to stay as they are.
To the guys who have spent thousands of dollars on the game, maybe $100 for an epic they want is reasonable, for me personally, I would pass on it for $10.

 

To play devils advocate, I am not saying the rumour is false either! I am just stating nobody knows for sure so we are just making wild accusations with no hard facts to back them up!
I am not a fan of micro transactions either, but they are essential for these F2P type games to survive, and games which generate the most IAPs are competitive multiplayer games, where people pay money to get ahead of the competition.
Still, I am struggling to see how a single epic weapon can be valued at $100 and it be considered a "deal" but I am probably biased too

 

When discussing matters of "RNG" you have to remember one very important point, and that is this:

Humans are extraordinarily bad at being random.

THAT IS A HUGE FREAKING PROBLEM. How can you possibly use that statement to tell people to "not listen to the rumors"???

Yes, it might just be "random players guessing." But it is not ILLOGICAL to think that Rovio would do something like this to make as much money as possible when THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT KNOW WHAT IS ACTUALLY GOING ON.

PLUS: They have already PROVEN THAT THEY PRESENT THE SPECIAL OFFERS BASED ON WHAT YOU NEED!! So it is not even that far-fetched to consider the possibility of them reducing your chance to get the item you need since they are already manipulating their offer system.

Add on top of that the only real forum of information or discussion for their game is OWNED AND RUN BY ROVIO. This is like a government owning the media outlets and only putting out exactly what they want the public to know.... *cough North Korea cough*.



I don't want to start a conspiracy that Rovio is playing Kim Jong-un behind the scenes with Battle Bay. BUT it is perfectly logical and reasonable to suspect a for-profit company doing everything they can to make a profit when there is no way to prove that they are doing it because they are the only ones that can see their RNG algorithm.


Also to any MVPs or DEVs that would consider deleting my comment.... that would only fuel the fire. If they truly want to squash any conspiracy about RNG tampering, then they will find a way to be more transparent. I mean, FFS, it should be ILLEGAL to have a hidden RNG system anyways. Even if it is not YET ILLEGAL, it is certainly DISHONEST and DECEITFUL to have a hidden RNG system.


I'll end my rant with a line from a very famous John Mayer song...

Firstly the asinine comment, I think you misunderstood my comment.
I was stating that it is illogical to listen to rumours, which have been made with no factual evidence.
The algorithm is only known by Rovio so its impossible for anybody to state that they have heard rumours of how they force this or rig that etc.
This is a generic statement which you should apply to all walks of life, not just Battle Bay.

As for the second comment, Rovio do know and control their game, so are the only people who know the algorithm.
Nobody else other than those who have been involved with the coding etc can confirm nor deny exactly how it works.
I am not stating that this is a good thing or a bad thing, but why would you listen to a rumour, that was created by someone with no real knowledge of the algorithm?

You go on to mention that the rumour is plausible, and I have never said it wasn't.
It might be true, it might be false, but without any facts behind it we are all just guessing at what might be happening.

As far as Rovio controlling this forum, this is quite normal for games.
Activision, Supercell, Zeptolab etc control their forums too, you see this as a negative, but it has positive sides too.

We as a community can speak directly to the game developers, and all the posts are overlooked by the team to make sure the info is accurate, and Rovio can step in and help people directly in game, this wouldn't be able to happen without Rovio presence here. The devs also do release real information, statistics etc at times which wouldn’t otherwise be possible, and as a community we can even make changes / requests which have the possibility of being approved and implemented in game.

Personally I like the fact this is an official forum, and am glad we have the Rovio team here.

I like the reverse psychology to trick the game too. It might be crazy... so crazy that it just might work.
