This might not be a big deal to others but for players like me with limited cap this is a big issue.

The old(deleted) thread received some replies from other players.
    - Some players have confirmed and experienced this issue.
    - Others observed that it happens mostly during startup.
    - A player has observed that after he subscribed to VIP, the issue has stopped. In the old patch, there is a line that said something like "stopped pre loading ads on VIP"
    - A player has experienced and observed that there is an application running in the background "UnityAdCache"

1st screenshot is about less than 2hrs of gaming.

So Mods, please explain why the thread was deleted immediately? There is something going on. Why are the ads preloaded even though we do not watch them? Are we being forced to subscribe to your VIP? If that's the case, that is a very shady practice.

I think its a fair post. You are seeing if you are crazy or if others are experiencing the same thing. Lock the thread, don't delete it.

This is.... interesting. I've got unlimited data and wifi most places that I play. But this is still an interesting issue for people without these luxuries.

You can certainly contribute by looking at how much data your app takes near the end of your month.

For grins I checked my data history in my phone. For whatever reason, BB likes my network better than wi-fi or i get disconnected so when I can I play on my network.
November only about half done with this data period, with VIP - My BB usage this month so far was 0.27 GB, 2nd being Facebook with 0.21GB and Snapchat with 0.12GB. All other apps are less than 0.1GB
October - BB 2.61 GB, Facebook 1.05GB, Snapchat 0.27 GB - BB only used 0.06 GB in background
Sept - BB 2.14GB, Facebook 1.19GB, Youtube 0.42GB - BB only used 0.04GB in the background
August - Facebook 1.07GB, BB 0.93GB, Youtube 0.76GB (I guess BB was only a hobby back then, now its an obsession).

So seems to be Ads are a lot of the data streaming when playing BB but my data does not show it working in the background as much as I thought.

If it is true then they need to address the issue as not every1 can afford unlimited data and forcing this on people unless they pay up is very dodgey indeed.

Well in their defense, you can play with wi-fi with no data costs incurred. Some apps offer to remove ads for a single low price, but that might detract from their VIP subscriptions.

A lot of people only have WiFi with a cap limit so having to download these ads even if they don’t watch the ads can serious affect how soon the reach the data cap.

For people who spend lot of time not at home, Mobile data is their main source of connection but with Battle Bay eating so much data, it only discourages me to play.
Now they added Exp for every battle, it somehow pushes you to play more.

So you either spend up all your data or purchase their VIP.

Reduction in epic parts/items, less pearls and this advert data seems all a big push to force us to purchase items.

Yes the game is one of the best free games out there, if not the best, but making it far harder to play free and progress will chase a lot of players away(not me I’m a non paying player but enjoy game to much).

The fact that they rely on ads to run this game shows how amateur they are!
Other games like CoC never asked us to watch any ads! Not even 1! How is Rovio even going to explain this one?
How will Rovio ever be able to compete with the likes of CoC and other top games?
I'm losing interest in this poorly supported game.
So dear Battle Bay please stop the stupid ads and extra data you add to the game!
Make the game easier with no extras added since that kills our connection and data plans!
It's not rocket science you're losing players cause you're relaying on stupid ads you fund your game!
Stop the ads and you'll see better results and happier customers!

Yes, the other option is to pay. That is not exactly going to sell it is it?
The issue here is really the principal, Rovio is not trying to deliver a game. Instead they're more interested on the funds they gain from making us watch ads.
Have you ever seen an other games where the players have so many complaints about the data usage and the add ons?
This game is not aiming to keep their current players instead they rely on new players to fall into their ads trap!

I don't think any game wants to do that, I mean they are trying their best to make the game better.

And the end of the day, it's all about earning money so , in return of delivering an awesome game, I think they deserve some funds to manage expensive servers and everything! :)

Can others please post data that confirms or denys any claim? I'm the only one so don't jump to conclusions based on my snapshot. Ads are optional, always have been. Just interested in how much data the ads ads.

You are right but the issue here is it's still consuming bandwidth because it's pre downloading the ads whether you watch it or not :(

My monthly data consumption from BB. This is probably about 2hrs worth of gameplay a day (I'm usually at work so I can only play 2 or 3 games between work, I use Wifi at home). 0 ads played (probably played market refresh twice in this span).

I could play a lot more if I wasn't so worried with the bandwidth consumption. Now I play a less when I'm not at home.

Wouldnt downloading an ad once and playing from your device save on data as oppossed to repeatedly streaming the same video
