    biased.
red slots are the only things delivering damage in this game, delivering damage determines if you kill or not a ship, kill all the ships or not determines if you win or lose the game
big torp combo uses 1 red slot
fire combo uses 2 red slots

big torp damage at top tiers is between 4k and 6k damage
fire damage at top tiers is 2.2k damage plus 1.6k damage over 20 seconds

let's suppose 2 mk5 ships meet each other with same exact tiers of items, 1 speeder and 1 shooter, shooter has 4.5k hp, speeder has 3.5k hp hp

    second 1:
    -speeder frosts: no damage
    -shooter fires: 80 damage

    second 2:
    -shooter fire: 80 damage

    second 3:
    -shooter fire: 80 damage

    second 4:
    -shooter fire: 80 damage

    second 5:
    -speeder torps: 4.5k damage
    -shooter ec: 2.2k damage

shooter is dead, speeder has one third of his hps left starting with one third of hps less.
wanna see a more realistic scenario?

    second 0:
    -speeder pops tesla shield

    second 1:
    -speeder frosts 0 damage
    -shooter fires 80 damage

    .....

    second 5:
    speeder torps: 4.5k damage
shooter ec: 0 damage (tesla shield)

    shooter dead
    speeder almost full hp

at your point b): hello do you know anything in regard of guild quests? season is ending so they are using other setups to finish quests?

and yea we have unregistered cannon shots i made even a video about it, you don't have unregistered torp hits tho!

@Shadow Moon! there are mk5 shooters at over 4k not, there are a lot of mk5 shooters over 3k not, and being over 3k not matches you up against top global frost torps users.

as i keep repeating the only problem is frost damage perks and big torp base damage, the multiplier on frost perks applied to the highest weapon base damage of the game (excluding mines),
it's the overpowered thing of all of this, mostly because it is also a point blank hit

I guess all these speeders guild quests are coincidentally for the weapons they always use.
Speeders in the top fifty: Since flare and torp are most common build, I counted those 2. There were 7 torp users to 10 flare + cannon users. Go look for yourself bud.

Also, I don't really understand what your thought process is with the demonstration but I'm assuming you still believe frost torp has equal risk to flare EC; all you seem to understand is the damage. So I'll just take my leave, have a nice day.

Just my opinion and yes im a frost torp speeder....This is the ONLY thing i run and i sometimes hate it....y? Because its not garenteed damage, some games i get 1k damage (all from my sniper) some i get 20k damage (ppl grouped up...wich btw is there fault not my torps) its a high risk with my 4k hp to go in and "try" to get a kill....and in most cases i die trying to get that one loner. Playing against nightmare players all it takes is 2 shots for me to be out of the game....i have to plan my strategy very carfully then go in for a kill.....wich MAY not happen.
My stratagy is to find the loner, stun from a distance then OB to him. Once close enof i frost then send in the torp(it had been dodged thousands of times). This sounds like a intant kill for me but its not....if 1 person on my team shoots my target and breaks the stun.....im F*CKED! If i miss im F*CKRD, again this is just my opinion on it, yes its a great combo BUT it relies on ALOT of luck to pull ut off.

Yeah exactly. Some games there are not even any openings as the team stays well positioned and I'm left shooting torpedos from miles away (something shooters can do x10 better), ending the game with hardly any damage. I could try and risk it during a small window, but in those cases i could die so I'd rather just wait for a better moment.

And in most my games i get that under 2k damage wich is 0 torp hits....to many things have to go just right for u to land one....im srry for the ppl that hate this combo because u are running into a skilled player of this combo wich is all based on luck and yourself not paying enof attintion...if u ser a speeder on the other team its best u keep a close eye on were hes lineing up....if u see him coming in u better spam that kill target button asap and prey ur team changes targets

The fact that you guys can’t place torpedos has nothing to do with the fact that a torp on a frosted target its a point blank and a one shot most of the times.

That it is, the point is that to gain that power u goda have the right oppertunity, the skill to pull it off and the luck that ur target isnt paying attintion aswell as ur team not screwing up ur setup. I will garentee that its a very strong setup but its not a point and shoot combo that comes with point damage weapond. The easyer something is to get damage with the less damage it should do, if its hard to get a hit with the weapon it should do massive damage. If it does not then the items would never be used

Lets add another example of something...u go against a team with 2 or 3 good fixers.....u would be loving a frost torp speeder on ur team as he will prolly be ur only chance of winning that match if the fixer team works together well. Or a team that has 2 of those healing defenders with a million hp... It is a needed evil against many things.

Things you mentioned are idealistic like just one on one situation and no other players present. Do you think other 4 players will be sitting still and watching how the speeder kills the shooter? No. And if its one on one and speeder is charging towards shooter that shooter will stand still? No. Ask Bunta how many times he ended up with 0 damage trying to pull out that frost torp combination.

And to get that point blank hit, where you need to be?
Answer: In point blank range right next to enemy team so they can KILL YOU WITH 4 SHOTS WHEN YOU HAVE 4K HP!!
If you are separated from your team, sorry, your fault

I just thought of a perfect balanced Nerf to this combo! Do full damage at double arming distance for Big Torpedo. Then scale back to half damage at the minimum arming distance. That way it can still do the full damage, but requires a bit more of a skill shot.

Every torp shot is a skill shot. But at least that’s not a total killer nerf

No worries, not rude. I have played with bigtorp but from a mk4-mk5 ship level at around 2400-2800 infamy. My main combo I use is blast/Explosive cannon. Basically best case scenario I roll up and get crits with both my cannons for a little under 3k damage. Keep in mind landing both skill shots that require almost direct line of sight. At my infamy the guys almost never kill me first pass around, especially if I'm riding the waves correctly and I'm playing on one of my favorite maps. That being said there is no chance I will kill someone ever with both shots of my main setup. This game is a lot of luck, everyone knows that. When I tried switching out my second cannon for a BigTorp and Shield for blaster it did make my survivability a little less but before I would only use shield if I made a mistake or had already used both my weapons on the way out. With this setup my BigTorp alone hits for 2.2k (Not even that good compared to most) but combined with my cannon. 1500 dmg on 10% crit. That now up's my potential damage on a drive by from 3k -> 3.7k. Remember the 3k assumes 2 crits at around 10% so that will rarely happen.

Onto my next point, actually having to land those shots. In my experience there is always a skill shot to land any weapon. I guess the sniper/flare would be one of the easiest. I've gotten pretty good at leading and landing the blast cannon. The challenge is it does require almost direct line of sight which leaves you very vulnerable. Especially if you just hit someone for 800+, he will probably start switching targets to find you. A big torp from my experience almost always lands if the boat isn't looking at me yet. Therefore the frost isn't always needed until I'm in combat already. I don't have the +damage against slowed target perks since I literally just tried out this combo over the weekend after I read the thread. So I usually end up using that after I launch the torp and before I hit them with my cannon. The other thing to note is the big torp can be fired and has a chance to hit someone without making yourself vulnerable. Like you can fire it down a lane you know the opponents are traversing, or you can lead it around a corner you know someone is chasing you around. Not to mention it explodes off walls. Maybe I've just been using the wrong weapons all along...

    Maby :)
I have wondered if id change my setup given the chance as i see so many "invincable" speeders with the xcannon setup and shield that just 1v1 like they are drinking sweet tea lol. That setup doesnt seem fun to me though, i like the risk of the torp set up just a tad bit more than i hate it.

    As a fixer;
Fixers have lower hp than shooters. If you got frost torped, you are just about to get out with a single blast cannon shot. If you still survive, a mortar or any airborne AoE can kill you... Even duct tape needs some time.
Frost torp is a really powerfull combo that it needs a huge nerf. Espicially big torp damage...

Excuse me for not reading more than a couple posts, I hate frost torps as much as the next guy, but there is also nothing more fulfilling than dodging the torp.

I use a defender so no nitro here, just pure dodging skills. Throw them a fake forward and throw that puppy hard in reverse. Works everytime 90% of the time ;)
