Infamy makes no sense, better replace it with a normal score of hit-points

    Hi All,

    Personally I think the infamy on Battle Bay is useless of using it as a score of how good you are. Because I have sunk 4 ships in one game by myself, more than once, but still losing the game. But losing the game is not entirely my fault, the others often do not play together. But even if you have played well, you still lose infamy. So, if you come across bad players, you will go down in score. Which is not really fair, because losing the game is not dependant in general of one person. In a few cases it is, but most of the time it is not.

    So, would it not be better to scrap the infamy and come up with a normal score of hitpoints, so then you can see who is good and who is not. I have seen people with an infamy of 1600 and they sink 0.7 ships per game, whereas I have 400 tops and sink on average 1.22 ships.

    And one other point it would be some much fairer to compete with ships with the same amount of health, instead of sometimes battling with others of have 4 times as much and 4 times heavier weapons.

    Infamy isn’t a score of how good you are as a player personally. It’s only a score of how well you can Help your team win.

    There should be a score for hitpoints and then an additional score like infamy or combined. But not only infamy for winning or losing. That does not make sense.

    I like playing together, but 75% of the people seems that they do not want or get it. And that is the weakness of playing with strangers and having infamy.

    It would be better that you can play with 5 people of choice against another team or guild. That would be much more exciting.

    And in a Battle shios have to have the same health, it is hardly possible to sink someone with 4000 if you have 500.

    It is very possible if that 4K health ship is awful at the game or has very under leveled weapons. I’ve seen 5k health speeders take down 13k health defenders. Which is a larger difference in health than you are talking about.

    Very true, we have also sunk ships with 4x the health of our ships. But if you compete with 5 who have all 3 to 5x the health of us, then the chance is so slim of winning. Most of the time they have bigger guns too, which blown you away in 2 shots.

    The problem is every ship in one account should have its own infamy becouse if the infamy level means how much i can help my team, is not true that i can help my team with my mk6 defender (playng it since 1 year) in the same way if i use my mk4 speeder (not used so much and not upgraded right stuffs for it) ... so probably with my mk6 im 3000+ infamy... but with my speeder im for sure under 3000. I hope to be quite clear...sorry for my bad english.

    You’re very clear so you did well. Uhh basically the way the game is set up right now you’re not supposed to use your mk4 speeder. That’s the one thing that’s super annoying. You’ll get reported for infamy tanking and may even get a ban. All because you wanted to have fun on your speeder. The majority of people are hopefully they’ll add some type of mode where you can use boats for fun without affecting infamy

    Yes thats really what i mean: the game set-up now is like that; and actually is not all only about the sheep Mk level... cose i actually buy the Mk5 speeder but of course it has not a right stuff to run in 3000+ seasons... im sure i will loose many battles if Mk5 too, before to have adeguate items on it if my intention is not to drop my infamy too of course (cose no benefits in doing it)... so if i was segnalated before cose no adequate Mk ship level...now it will be cose not adequate items ... so ... there is always a reason to be segnalated and banned with this game set-up. So my question is... why so many ship-slots if in the end we can use just one of them....why the developers dont think about a different game set up... why not to give another meaning to the infamy points...why not fix this Big problem in the next update?

    Your ability to influence your team mates is so minimal infamy is more like your recent luck with being matched up with players who actually belong in your infamy range

    That’s why you play more than one game to decide your score. After thousands of games the only consistency is you and that’s why your infamy settles out in a set place with minor swings.

    Yes but if after thousands games i play a different kind of ship with different weapons and different weapons level and different Mk level....is still my "infamy" rappresenting what it shoud rappresent? (My skill level)

    No. It’s not a representation of your skill level. It never has been. It’s a representation of all your gear, boat and skill. Just because you decide to main one boat and use it to climb as high as you can instead of learning and progressing on each boat at the same time isn’t the games fault that you’re now skewing the factors you’ve been putting in to decide your infamy

    You guys probably already have this on the plans for future updates, but @Rango8 was spot on. We are still madly hoping for a sandbox mode to be able to play any ship and any load out. Maybe to even just play against bots? Would be so very helpful.

    honestly thats a good point too. if i took the time and resources to work on all 5 ships i doubt id be far above 2k infamy. The difference between those who focused on one ship vs multiple ships is very clear.

    It can be ok but i dont want just a "play and forget" mode... i want the time i spend on the game is used to ugrade my boats and items and ranking ....alway and anyway

    What do you mean? That now after one year i should leave my account with mk5 and mk6 boats to start a new one making upgrade the boats each in the same way, same weapons level same rarity same Mk level ... just becouse the infamy doesnt rappresent my skill and the developers are not able to create a better game set up?
