Balancing Changes on July 14th

    That's true but these kind of things have an impact for stupid people but I agree there are more important issues in this game. Also fair enough they're trying to make an underused item viable again; still don't think it's enough but we shall see.

    Yea all speeders get hit but the hit is harder on the higher lvl guys because they have more hp % buffs then let's say a mk3 does am I correct? Meaning a mk3 may loose overall 300 hp but a mk6 or mk7 could loose 800 or even 1k+ because they run more captain buffs and more perk buffs.

    But the 2 to 1 slot change is welcome in order to start using at lower level (MK5) or planning for it if you are an MK4.

    Well, i have to explain, why mk5 fixers are relatively high in their league while there are quite few(5) in the world rank (1-50) : Imagine a game where
    FRIENDS vs UNFRIENDS
    Strong fixer strong speeder
    normal Speeder normal shooter
    normal shooter normal defender
    normal defender normal shooter
    weak enforcer weak enforcer
    Case(-s) in which the first team wins:
    1. The unfriends team waits and attacks slowly without killing anyone (because of the strong healing ) (strategical mistake)
    Cases in which the other team wins:
    1.Their team's best speeder drives into the other team and kills the (strong) fixer and dies (equal chances)
    2. the important case, in which a normal player suicides(imagine a speeder with a carronade) and kills the strong fixer. the unfriends win because they have better players (they miss a normal player while the friends miss a strong one)
    This case is different when the friends have a weak fixer instead of a strong one. If a normal player suicides to kill the lowbie fixer, the unfriends will loose because they miss firepower. In the other case they will loose as well because even a weak fixer can win through waiting (and fixing). Therefore, it's not the fixer in general, which is overpowered, it's the infamy-relative low fixer, which is while higher fixers are lowpowered. So it's a matchmaking issue, because the matchmaking rates all fixers equally, despiting their team-relative weights and strengths. Additionally it explains why there are so few fixers in the top 50 (10% and those 10% are only located in the ranks 25-50).

    I'd consider the missile as receiving a tweak as opposed to a nerf. The changes made to it were necessary. Players need to know that there's a chance to escape fire, which missiles in their current state didn't leave much room for, if any.

    Big torp seems fine. Its travelling speed sets a good standard in terms of balance. Any issues with splash dmg hitting nearby debris or teammates is a result of lack in player awareness. Sometimes you won't notice it until it's too late but that again is player awareness. You can't avoid them all.

    Hey. There is a pretty simple, elegant and realistic way to deal with hp vs speed ya know. You should be considering it.

    Very easy... Armor weighs a lot. The more armor you add, the more speed and maneuverability you loose.

    You want a 6000hp speeder? That's cool. It will be as fast as a mk4 shooter with fewer slots.

    This should extend to ALL ships in some regard. It will encourage users to balance hp vs speed and their own style of play as well as their weapons systems.

    Its fair, obviously balanced and nobody can bitch about it because it's undeniably fair and user directed.

    Which is nothing like most of your changes so I don't see how it can be considered... Meh

    All of these changes are indirectly helping other boats like the defender. But I still hope for a little boost in defender hp and defense. Even a 300-500 base hp boost and a 10 point defense boost will help a ton. I'd be satisfied and on my merry blue way.

    Sometimes when I dodge it, my teammates don't and I receive the damage :(. I can accept the splash damage but when it's not entirely your fault, I don't think I should get similar damage to the one that get hits directly. And compared to tritorp, bigtorp have a closer range of attack which makes them easier to hit.

    BTW... There are in fact torps and mines out there doing 2k Ish damage down under 1500 infamy.

    This IS huge problem and some sort of limits on offensive capacity based on the waters in which one sails with some of these weapons should be considered.

    I know you want to sell legendary weapons and that's fine but if you actually want a balanced game you need to account for this issue before you tweek missles.

    16k for defender? How? I barely can make it 9k. Even with aditional shield I can scratch 9.5k, but not 16k, don't even @henrisonmd have that much. I'm level 38 and frecuently battling speeders with way more HP than me. So, this nerf is very wellcome, speeders are not meant to be fast defenders.

    looks like everything has been said already.
    imo the hp nerf should have been done in the first place. now the OB nerf looks personal. survivability of low lvl speeders is already low.

    this type of balancing SHOULD have been done during soft launch. doing it now in a game where collecting and upgrading items takes months, if not years will just piss off a lot of players. once you invest your time into specific boat, its impossible to make the switch right away.

    if splash dmg is problem for you, dont stand next to your teammates or walls. torps miss more often than hit, so they compensate with high dmg and splash, same as mines.

    Of course he is, we Defenders all are, speeders stun, freeze, dodge, scape and have too much HP that in a 1v1 fight the speeder wins every time. I don't know yet how much this will help us, but it sure sounds pretty good so far.
