Will This Strategy Work?

I want a legendary weapon. To do so, I have to grind games.
Here are some strategies, I dunno if they work or not.
1. Use 3X weapon on defender. And grind + drop infamy
2. Use custom battle. Have a Rambo wait for you while you farm and smash them.
3. ‘Borrowing items’, this is when you borrow a weapon from someone and use it. It’ll auto return to the owners inventory after ? days. You can easily get the dup if you use bunta’s B torpedo.
Is no. 2 patched?

 

Pretty sure 2 doesn’t work, and 3 doesn’t exist.
Honestly, f2p players don’t really need legendary weapons ever. I’ve almost completed a leg achievement, but my gear is already as good as leg.

 

1. You are free to use 3x same weapons in defender and grind the legendary but your second point "drop infamy" is against the rules of fair play if you do it on purpose (not even trying to win battles).
2. Custom battles never counted towards weapon achievements so not sure why you ask if that's been patched or not. It never existed.
3. There is no such thing as borrowing items in Battle Bay. Again, not sure how that ended up on your list because a feature like this never existed.

Finally, it's good to realize that t1 legendaries aren't very good. They are limited to 3 perks which makes them weaker than t4 epics. Meanwhile t4 epic still has a lot of upgrade potential later on but with legendaries you could be stuck with the t1 for years unless you are ready to pay (a lot) to progress faster.

 

Agreed... there's no real reason to grind for a Legendary.

L50 Rare = L1 Legendary = L34 Epic
L50 Epic = L23 Legendary (T3)

In other words you need 3 copies of a Legendary item before you can exceed an Epic. It took me literally 1 year to get a single RNG Legendary item, so I'll leave it to you to calculate the odds of getting 3 of the same Legendary item? Hint: next to zero.

 

Legendaries are pointless untill T3 (for a F2P its impossible). Better get those epics up to date.

I don’t think you understood me. By the time a f2p casual player is able to obtain a legendary, it wouldn’t be too much better than what that player would already have.

 

Thing is, I don’t wanna wait 3+ months for 4 epics on 1 item, it’s faster if u have a leggy

I'm 100% f2p with 6 legendaries so far, and I fully expect that number to go up to 9 or 10 within the next month or so.

Just play man, do your best and have fun.
Dropping infamy is the opposite of what you want to do if you want good rewards. The higher the league you can push into, the greater the rewards.

With the new guaranteed leggo pieces coming in from event boxes and the opportunity for huge damage contribution from the events themselves, you'll have that shiny golden weapon before you know it!

 

Let's hope I get my leggy ex cannon before I get T4 epic. Otherwise I might as well scrap the leggy

 

It's called 'legendary' for a reason... You'll probably get a, or a few, T4 epic(s) long before you get a legendary. In addition, as StrictSalmon307 said, your gear by then would already be stronger than that leggy. So work on your T4 epics, this is a slow grind game, no point chasing after legendaries that keenly.

 

I understand you feel that way, but what if I want to run a Legendary and an Epic?

 

I’m not telling you that you shouldn’t use legendaries, I’m just saying that it’s not as worth it for some players.

I have 8/10 red leg pieces, so I'm close to getting a legendary weapon. And my best weapon is a t4 rare, so I think it's worth it for me. My other two weapons are t1 epics lol.

 

That's why Battle Bay has the P2P model. If you lack time or patience, you can pay money and buy them. For F2P don't even pretend there is any way to get Legendaries faster than Epics.

 

I got legendary big T and firebomb way faster than even near equivalent epics.
They're a fine way to have usable items that rng has otherwise kept to itself.

Once you have a high level epic of any weapon you can use that to grind out a legendary version pretty quickly too. Great if you're keen on running two of anything, and way faster than building another one.

 

Well if you want legendaries but you can't put in the time, your only option is to spend money.
