One of the biggest flaws of this game is the crew training. It does not mean anything other than spending sugar and waiting. Everybody can do that, even a monkey or my cat!

That is thé reason to have players who have a mk5 or mk6 shooter or any ships for that matter and are the worst players in the game. In a real game they would not have progressed further than level 1 and remained in a mk1 boat. That is why we are stuck with players who perform so badly and I ask myself why am I playing this game. I see players with a mk6 on either side and look like a kid of 4 behind the helm of daddies yacht. Of course that won't work and soon he will wreck the ship. And so they wreck a good battle. That is why I don't spend any more money due to how Battle Bay works. Even if I spend money, I still get kids of 4 years old behind the helm and wreck the fun.

Just one solution to make this a real game and one that will last, is too design it so you go through the levels by actually doing something. You get to a certain Infamy and then get a bigger boat if you want. This will change Battle Bay into a real and proper game, not some poor surrogate. This will result that we will enjoy it longer than two weeks and don't walk away screaming. Which I am doing now.

Why bother to write this message? I don't know, the idea behind Battle Bay is cool, but the execution is flawed by far. I ask myself is it delibrate or just not thought through enough? Guess we will never know, or we do when they change it and make it better. Although reading the forum and the older message I fear not much will change. The feedback of players in the Playstore says enough too. Maybe I come back in 3 months, maybe not. Plenty of other games out there.

    Woah. Thats a good one!
Yeah, I see these punks as well, toting t5 epics without any idea of movement or shot leading. Leagues mean a little, but your point is correct.

    Totally agree with you both....
Battle bay is a great idea but management is poor.
I must really like the game, stayed this long.

@Eddie Jones And did you think about how this idea would impact the playerbase? Less skilled people stay at low infamy, will never get a ship upgrade and quit the game. Boom, playerbase decimated.

Battle Bay is not a fully competitive game, and will never be. The component of ship upgrading by investing time, effort and/or money is meant to be there, because 1) long term progression is fun and 2) without it, the game would not make any money. You can't make this game purely skill based, not unless you can multiply the population so much that ad and VIP revenue can sustain it.

The primary point is a good one. The game is so close to being great, but the main drawback is the P2P focus / RNG aspects of the game which wreck any chance of having an accurate skill-based progression. It would be great to have a follow-on title that resolves those issues.

That is what happens to all games, wether it is a computer game or a real life game. Here in the UK millions of people play football or cricket, most of them never get to play for the top clubs like Manchester United. Heck they might not even have won a championship for 15 years, but they keep playing, because they enjoy it. Should Battle Bay be different? If you just don't have the skill, then you should stay at a mk1 or mk2. Now people with mk5 ships or even higher frustrate the other players, because they cannot compete with other mk5 players, so they ruin it for the lower level players who do get to battle these people. And even in sports, the better and fortunate players spend a lot of money to train and their equipment and others don't. That is just how the world works.

If you want to pay for it fine, but for every game you need skill, if you don't have it, then why should you get a mk5? I don't have the skill to play sports, at least a lot of them. So, should I then demand the downgrade te rules? No, I can try harder that is all I can do. But if I cannot get better, than I have to accept that.

You can not keep everyone happy, but if you try to, then you might even do the opposite and lose a lot of the well skilled players, who do draw their wallet.
