When to level epics over rares.

I have some rare items which are towards tier 3 and I'm starting to get the epic equivalent of the item. Im in the Master 1 tier and currently level 29 with a MK4 fixer.

As a discussion, when would it be best to stop levelling the rares and move onto the epics?

In my opinion. Epics aren't worth it til you find 3 or 4 of them. A level 30 rare will do better than a level 20 epic with same amount of perks slots and much easier to level.

I am currently working on my epic sniper to level 20 in the hopes that I'll get a 3rd duplicate

 

Hold onto epics for the long game, once you are able to get one within range of your current rare replace it for parts

 

Unless you plan to spend $$$ then come to terms with using rare gear. By all means keep epics you are interrested in, but the average time for a f2p to find enough duplicate epics to rival a lvl 50 rare is several years. Odds are you will have quit long time before getting there.

 

Depends. For certain items (e.g. shields) the switch is worth only when you hit lv31 and that is because you are unlocking a 4th perk).

For other items (e.g. overboost thar add a % rather than a fixed amount) might be worth the switch even before tier 4, but that is only if you don't have tier 5 rare and you keep in mind that your chances of getting tier 5 rare in the future are much higher than tier 4 epic (so you willingly go down what might be the less effective road in the long term).

I do use one epic tier 2, but simply because I am prioritising green/yellow/blues and the weapons I want to build need trainings I can't access in a short time. So epics are a decent stall while I build up other items

 

I've been playing for three months and just got my fifth rare repair pulse, I think I was destined to be a fixer

 

That's funny. I got my 5 Rare Repair Boxes, but I'm also a MK4 Fixer.

And I still have only a lvl 10 Rare Repair Pulse.

 

I've gotten at least 5 rare carronades. Scrapped every one.

 

Never if you're f2p. Judging by current system. It'll take you years to get copies of epics you need. Hell, I've been playing since launch and haven't even found my third rare sniper yet.

 

I feel you guys. I'm also being trolled real hard over here.

 

ive got a similar problem, but with rare repair box.
I have gotten more repair pulses and duct tapes then i will ever need (or in duct tapes case, use)

 

*GASP* In my entire career (Since may 21st) I have only gotten one rare big torp.

 

I'm pretty sure I get a rare big torp every week from those chests. Snipers not so much.

 

Sorry scrapped about 4 rare snipers.

 

Epics only get better than a maxed out rare at lvl 35.

F2p struggle is real. If you find another explosive cannon, you should just move on from sniper. Thats what I'm gonna do and move on from triple torp to railgun. And sniper to blast cannon if I find more of them.

 

Just take what RNG give and be grateful.
