What is the difference in Captain level shields?

    Can someone please tell me why some captain level shields have 1,2 or 3 stars at the top and some are different colors?

    You know the blue hexagons you get from leagues, those change captain badge and the colors and star are different "levels" of your badge.
    1 star --> 2 stars --> 3 stars --> next color --> 1 star ...
