Weapon evolution questions

    Not sure if this has been answered before. Mobile does not have a search option.

    As we all know, weapon evolution is a thing, some require a crew member to be level 8 or higher to evolve. As we also know, you must have 2 of the same tier weapon in order to evolve. Aka 2 epic cannons allows you a tier 2 epic cannon so long as 1 of the cannons is level 10.

    My question is, does the 2nd weapon of same tier and type NEED to be level 1? Or can you also level up the 2nd weapon as well and still merge them together via evolution at a later time?

    And I realize I have said weapons only so far, obviously this applies to all other ship attachments as well.

    Yes, you can use any level, but its kinda a waste. So if you know you are evolving, dont waste mats (which getting tougher to get enough of once you go up the tiers)

    Materials aren't an issue for me. I have a set weapon and item base I use. Tons of weapons are crap imo. I just needed to make sure if it was possible to level up the 2nd item and still use it to evolve the first item.
