Unfair battles at low captain levels

    Is captain level not taken into account during matchmaking in this game? Something doesn't seem right when a player limited to a level 2 ship is matched against level 4 ships. I just hit captain level 14 with infamy around 500, yet in almost every match there are level 4 ships with players at captain level 25+. Why does the matchmaking system not take something as basic as captain level into account? These horrible high level players can sit at low infamy and just shit on low levels like me because they have better weapons and more HP.

    The only time this game becomes fun again is after i lost a huge number of matches so that my now low infamy keeps me out of these kinds of matches.

    Also, I am super curious to know how the hell its possible to stay around 500 infamy as a level 25+ with a level 4 ship. Like seriously, how?

    Matchmaking is weighted on infamy, and also takes your ships MK level into consideration. Captains level doesn't come into it unfortunately.
    You can be really unlucky and get matched with kamikaze kids shooting off for a 1 vs 5 with the enemies, or sometimes you will find "floaters" which deliberately dont attack to lose and keep their infamy is low, although you can report these players and Rovio are working on a solution to better catch them. Do not get too worried about infamy, if you win then great, if you lose, you know the next match will be a little easier ;)

    Just focus on collecting gear and training your crew and your level will increase, you will get stronger ships and continue to progress.

    That’s just the way it is, if you play well and you win then you’ll be given harder and harder opponents, until it starts to feel too hard.

    Don’t let it get you. Fighting harder opponents will ultimately make you a better player. In a couple more weeks you’ll have your mk4, and you’ll leave those seal clubbers eating dust.
