This game is hard

    I feel like my infamy is way too high for my skill level. I'm at about 1300 infamy right now and most of my boats are mk2 and my items are all up to level 2 evolution and are either rare or epic. In most games I end up getting killed really quickly. And in games that i don't get killed instantly, I end up doing very little to contribute to the battle. The only times when I feel like i was actually having fun, was with the event mini games like deathmatch and capture the flag. Any tips on how to get better and make this game more enjoyable? Also my captain level is 19.

    You have wait for sometime and accumulate different item and experiment different boats untill you reach level 30.
    Surely this game is so unforgiving when you start new. Developers are trying to make the game more viable for the new comers but they more time I guess.
    My suggestion to you try to learn more about they weapons you use and try different boats and setup because your weapons are not going to do enough damage to take out mk5/mk6.
    Save your ALL EPICS yellow, green, blue and obviously red ones. Don't scrap anything. Hoard up pearls, if need be buy inventory slots or spend on trainings so you can get to mk5 faster.

    Yes like you said, in ranked matches you will go on winning streaks and be up against much stronger opponents. You will also go on long losing streaks that will upset you, but you beginning to understand that your strength is someewhere in the middle.

    In events, the oppoents are matched based on the gearscore of the weapons and the ship not based on how good they are at winning in ranked matches. So here you will find your weapons and theirs not to be so powerful, but instead, you will see your skills to help you win.

    just keep playing , upgrade your setup and boat effieciently , choose whether upgrade all kind of item and boat or just specifically just 1 or 2 boat with specific item , each has pros and cons .
    try to mastering lead shot and any other technical issues , voila you'll find it's not that hard to play .
