TDM Matchmaking seems to be broken this round

I just got out of a deathmatch with the following gear scores:

I know there was a known gear score display bug, but these loadouts look accurate. I thought we were matching on gear score? Completely imbalanced matches like this are not fun.

 

I had a couple games like that in the last TDM too. Not often, but a couple. I know about the gear score display bug also, but the weapon loadouts looked accurate to the scores and it was a wild range.

I can see imbalance Gear score that how I keep losing, few time 2 Stars mostly 1 or zip star.

No matter I try I adjust weapons and defending shield

I remove bandages and add shields gear score drop MY GOD I’m getting KILLED so I changed my weapons little stronger damages still the same ugh everything I tried still nothing. I just go ahead and play it anyway.

 

I'm continuing to see big discrepancies in gear score in this event, 2500 variance in my last battle. It's not difficult to guess which side won the following match:

Hint: every one of the 5 ordered pairs is higher on Side 2.... 2k variance per side, 2.5k variance side to side. As I said this at the first event... I'd rather wait longer than have mismatches like this. When the gear scores are closer across the board and balanced side to side the matches are playing out very fair, but some of these are head scratchers.

 

People were asking dor gear score matchmaking... here it is.

 

No one asked for *random* gear score matchmaking... it's a single number... do the math and balance it.

No worries... that wasn't directed at you... it's Matchmaker(tm)'s job to do the math.

 

It seems harder to squeze into low ranked players games with a low mk boat, thats probably for the best though.

Also didnt have much luck using a scraped down setup on my mk7 Fixer - Despite 8k gear score I ended up with 9 11k+ gearscore players.

 

My latest match. While the variance was better, every player on Team 2 had a higher gear score than every player on Team 1.

Then what should be reasonable gear score difference?

 

They changed their matching in tdm to gear score plus something else. Not sure what else they added but gear scores now vary alot more than in the past.

 

Seen this quite often, maybe 5/10 matches..no fun!

Also hate that people use lower level boat equipped with leggy weapon and stroll to victory doing 80% of his team damage

 

equal power? how does it equal when match lv50 captian lv with max weapons with lv 10s with green weapons ? happends on event now, just that those newbs wont talk

 

When two players have the same gear score, their overall power is (close to) equal.

IMO gear score should reflect training... the DPS calculation reflects both, no? If not, then gear score is a meaningless number... One guy has a T5 Rare Ex Canon that deals 900 damage, and the other has the exact same canon and perks that deals 1000 damage and they have the same gear score? That's utter nonsense.

 

DPS is only for red items. You can set one for green items too. Blue and yellow items don't have DPS. Since gear score is not balance, we can temporarily add infamy and/or captain level (X100) to make match making a little more even. Using only DPS, a high end speeder will slaughter the mid level shooters.

 

Can anyone explain why this retard was matched in my game if the death match is based on gear score.. I know it's a rude language but it's too much annoying if such dumb players are matched against me and with 4000 gear score while my gear score is 8300 which is almost half of mine. @Miika @TheAntiSnipe if any one can explain would be much appreciated.
