Suggestion for earning event perks

    I realise the tinkering with wins vs stars is about trying to make it fair for people to earn a perk but not heaps of them. However, it results in the more causal gamer really struggling to get that legendary perk.

    My suggestion is to scale the requirement to earn the perks. So first time through, day its 50 stars for the legendary perk, second legendary perk might take 80 stars the next time through. This would allow them to make it easier to get one legendary perk, whilst making it hard for people to get two legendary perks (need to send pearls to earn it maybe)

    I know that Devs want legendary perks to be rare things, so they are deliberately set to be challenging to achieve. In three events, I’ve only received one, as I too don’t get a lot of time to play.

    But I agree with the general principal of your idea, which is that perks should get harder to achieve on subsequent passes through the board.

    The bar was deliberately set high to make them hard to earn.

    I'm not suggesting its automatically handed out to everyone, but the casual gamer has very little chance of getting a legendary perk. I've got quite a few friends that have missed out on the epic perk because it was too hard for them. Would've thought rovio would try to convert a few causal hangers into more regular and maybe spending money with the events, but that wouldn't work at the moment. Making the first one a bit easier and the subsequent ones harder, would cater for the casual gamer more and enable rovio to maybe make some money out of them. It's bad enough the p2w players have a massive advantage over f2p. What's wrong with evening the playing field a bit? Without f2p players, the game would die due to a small player base.

    Sorry I dont agree.
    I am F2P and have gotten legendary perk twice in 3 events, yes I have had to work hard but if you are willing to grind then they are achievable.
    So right now you can pay money for tickets if you want an easier legendary perk.
    If you dont want to pay money then you will have to grind it out to earn it for free.
    If you dont want to pay money, and you dont want to grind it out, then you don't deserve one I am afraid.

    It's not about not wanting to grind, it's being unable to grind. Probably 80% of my playing time is during the week. I simply can't play as much on the weekend. Also, my friends as well have missed out on the legendary perk for similar reasons. I got lucky and got the legendary perk 2 of 3 times as well. Only just got it this last event.

    If rovio want to increase their revenue, then it's not going to be done via their existing big spenders. They need to convince the non spenders or those that don't spend much to spend. Making the event more achievable for the causal player could help this.

    The perks are legendary though. I don't think that it makes sense for a casual player to gain access to a leggy perk that easily(once a week).

    As much as I'd like to agree, as a semicasual myself, I have missed two event legendaries and didn't get the epic on the one before the last... Legendary perks are supposedly not meant for anyone other than the most dedicated players.

    Kind of offtopic: without switching my boat, I think I can make something like 18 stars per played hour (getting 2 stars on wins and 1 on defeats... Sometimes 3, 0), what I did until now was to find out If the odds of getting some useful perk would be enough to take me away from the ranked matches :D

    To be honest, our current system is favoring not the most dedicated but the ones using not illegal but immoral choices on TDM, IMO. I think it is cool to use another boat or items because the event doesn't fit your stuff, like not using your fixer, rudder, lube, etc on last event or to use items you want to farm but the real winners until now are the ones using underleveled items for no reason but to beat the system.
    I'm sure devs are working on it right now and they'll will deliver a nice system way harder to beat but it is not fair to call these players "dedicated" when they're actually making another players experience worse. :)

    It rewards people who didn't upgrade all their ships so they slap their legendary and t5 epics on an mk2 ship.
