Specialty Abilities

    Hello.
    So this was mentioned in a post before, which I can't find. But the idea is to have a specialty ability for each ship.

    This ability will be unlocked at mk4.

    Why? You ask. -

    Because right now there is an issue in the lower leagues where new players starting the game are being matched with mk4+ ships which causes lots of frustration and lack of desire to keep playing. So the solution would be to give mk4's the ability, making them stronger so they can surpass the lower league zone. This will also create motivation for new players; "I want to get the specialist ability, therefore I will grind for mk4 ships".

    The idea is simple; to give each ship their own special ability which they can use once per game.

    So here are the abilities:

    Shooter specialist - [Iron Fist]: Increases each of your items +25% damage ONCE. Each of your weapons will have a [1] tab on the top left corner. Once you use that item the tab will go away. When you fire an item with a [1] tab that item will deal 25% more damage than normally, so make sure not to miss ;). There is no time limit, you can use, say, 3 of your items which have a tab each and save the tab on your other 2 items for later or place a 25% damage boosted Mine in the perfect location! Great for getting the upper hand in the start of a match or helping your team take out a tanky defender :)

    Fixer specialist - [Intense Repair]: Cuts your REMAINING hp in half (-50%) and heals your entire team +50% of their REMAINING health (will not go over their max hp. Ex: 5000/4000). Say you are 500 hp left. And each of your teammates have 2000/4000 health. You will give up 250 hp to heal each of your teammates by 1000 hp. This ability will come in handy when you know you are about to die but want to leave your teammates behind with an advantageous health boost :)

    Speeder specialist - [Escape Artist]: 3 consistent nitros. These nitros will have the effect of a level 50 epic. The ability will allow you to use 3 nitros as you please with no cooldown. This will allow you to escape an intense brawl in which you are highly outmatched and need immediate evacuation. The neat part about this is that you will not need to have a nitro equipped :)

    Enforcer specialist - [Over-Protective]: Gives you and each of your teammates their own Tesla Shield that will not stun them when broken. The tesla shield will have a respective amount of hp and duration. Great for helping out your teammate fixer who is in trouble or giving those speeders who love to go out rushing at start of the match some protection :)

    Defender specialist - [Juggernaut]: Throw on a metal coat that makes it harder to penetrate your ship! This ability will last 20 seconds. During the 20 seconds all incoming shots will deal 25% less damage. Throw this on when you are being focused on by multiple enemies or when a strong shooter uses his Iron Fist ability! ;)

    When these abilities are activated your ship icon on the top of the screen will ignite with a pulse-like glow in the color if your ship; Speeder-yellow, Shooter-red, Fixer-green, Enforcer-yellow, Defender-blue. This will help you know when a specialist ability has activated. This will eradicate any confusion; "I just broke his tesla shield and no stun?" Or "Why does that shooter have a tesla shield".

    But if mk4s were so bad and were tanking then u overpowered them with this and they still could not rise, wouldn't the difference between them and the mk2s and mk3s increase making more complaints. Yes mk4s are common down there, my other account mk1 500 infamy encountered lot of mk4s but what ur suggesting won't help the problem. Maybe ad it later in game maybe at mk7 to mean a big change to it from mk6.

    A 100 infamy player will get set up with and/or against mk4 players. This doesn't mean you are good nor does it mean they are bad. It's just how the games are matched. But if we could help them a bit that'd make the situation a bit less frequent, which is better :)

    These special abilities should be much much weaker. Every match the ability should charge up before use. I say that every second it charges 1% so in 100 Seconds it will charge to max.
    The abilities also should be much more simple.

    Shooter: chain shot
    There will be no cooldown for your next shot only.

    Speeder: Overdrive
    Speed, aglity and turret all get boosted for a few seconds.

    Enforcer: Total Control
    CC effects are improved and cannot be removed temporarily. (Obviously it will be balanced so its not overpowered.)

    Defender: Harden
    Damage taken is reduced for a few seconds

    Fixer: Saving Grace
    Instantly heals all Ally's in a radius to 50% of their maximum hp. Has no effect if they are above 50% of their maximum health already.


    Additional Note: When and if these ultimate abilities get introduced we need battle commands that say, "My ultimate is ready!" So that the team can coordinate.

    I like where these ideas are going, but what if we gave the players more freedom and just created a new item type that you can put 1 of on your ship? Like, purple or something. Then if a fixer felt like helping on the offensive at a turning point in battle, they could use that "chain shoot" ability.

    Of course, the defender would benefit most from increased defense as they already have the highest defense, similarly to how a rudder makes the biggest difference on a speeder. But it's the freedom to choose that counts.
