So i started a new account. to see how the newbies have it these days...
A day in and i got to 500 infamy despite being paired up with and against all mk2-3
Asked a friend from og account to fleet with me, and we ended up winning lol
I had 600hp, so got out in first two shots.

But, look, ever see a mk1 and mk5 in the same battle???
    Now you have.
    LOL

    Without a fleet?
or was it just messed up match making.
Yknow, where the highest and lowest infamy on a team is like a 1k+ difference

Probably a higher mk using their unupgaded ship.

Thanks for checking this out, a lot of people don't seem to care. If new players can't advance, they might stop joining, which can cause the game to die. Keep us updated, I'm surprised you were able to reach 500 so fast.

Yes, I have seen posts from new players saying that battles were filled with mk3s and even mk4
Here is a normal battle i see at even 400 infamy-

A lot of the players down here have had a range of battles, from 100-1000 yet they are all around 500 infamy...
For example, kahoss10 has 1400 battles as mk4, teir 3 rares and epics. Why was he at 500 infamy?
Yet the one that did most dmg was mk2 and has played 700 battles.

Obviously, kahoss did not utilize his weapons in this battle, and as miika has said, maybe they are not seal clubbing, but simply bad.
    What do you think?

A lot of them are bad, no doubt about that. When people are using similar equipment for almost a straight 1500 infamy levels, skill is the primary thing separating them. That said, ranks are equally given and taken away, with no variance based on performance. It's just win or lose. There's probably a lot of guys down there that are pretty good, but a loss is a loss and carrying in this game isn't easy. I implied to a friend that he might have to carry, i.e. play better, in order to rise in the ranks despite having reasonable battle smarts and good equipment. He ended up quitting the game. How do you convince someone that they basically need to get the highest damage every single match, when everyone in the match is using the primary DPS class?

It doesn't help that I don't even know why I was able to get out of low-rank myself. I got out of it at the same time my friend was stuck in it, and it's only gotten worse since then. I attribute it to sticking with Cannons, not missing, and not being a Shooter, but I don't know. It could have been matchmaking luck.

I don't think any of them are seal clubbing, simply because I find it hard to believe that anyone would willingly stay in a lower rank for more than four weeks. In the new system, you're set at your highest infamy level through the season. At the start of the next season, if you didn't climb, you're set at your current infamy level. You then have to stay below that level for the whole season in order to actually get demoted. Kahoss10 has a green border, I don't think he's doing that on purpose.

I do want to reiterate, not everyone can be high rank. The system is nearly 1-to-1 with the amount of infamy gained and lost, and someone has to occupy the lowest leagues. Even if everyone got gud, this same thing would still happen. That's why it needs attention from the devs, newbs can't be getting put with Mk 3s and 4s right out of the gate. I don't know if they're paying attention, especially since people are apparently willing to play hundreds of battles before hitting 500. I would have quit. o_O
