After training Swift to lvl30, my epic lvl40 turbo gives me maximum speed for my mk6 shooter (1.46).
    I know that mk7 has a limit of 1.50.
So is it really necessary to have this kind of turbo:

    ?

    Thanks!

I know the immediate answer is No. if you’ve reached max speed why go further, right? Actually that’d be wrong. When you think about it, having a strong turbo is a great benefit. It allows you to select the other training options in the skill trees and you can use the perk slots for other universal perks. Such as all weapon damage increase or ship health perks

    Follow up question:
If you're turbo is strong enough to put you at exact speed cap, let's say 1.5, then if you're slowed by 50%, then you'll be at .75 speed.

Ok but then let's say you have that really super strong turbo, which, if it weren't for the speed cap, would have you at 2.0 speed. The speed cap keeps you at 1.5 under normal circumstances obviously, but when you're slowed 50%, does the extra turbo strength mean you'll only go down to 1.0 speed instead of .75?

Adding over the max does nothing.

Carronade requires like t5 turbo otherwise t4 should max you.

    Hp perks otherwise

All weapon dmg perk can not be applied to turbo. Only weapons.

I've left my epic turbo at T4 because it maxes my ships out. I even have an hp perk on it.

No, you can't "overflow" your speed so that when frosted you have more speed available. You can only ever have your max, and when slowed, extra turbo power does not give you more speed.
