I get that we have to deal with RNG. Its like that in almost all games. But for our game we have layers and layers of variables. First, we need a perk or item to appear in the shop using luck, then we have to have enough money to buy it, and if not, then we have less than 6 hours to farm the money we need which is never enough time unless you have some quests available. I don't think I have to sell it further but I would like some sort of shop locker or lay-away program where I can freeze a shop item or put it in storage so it does not refresh with the shop. I can then save up money to buy it. I assume it will require 10 pearls or something to lock an item in. And only one can be locked at a time. Maybe there is a limit to locking it 3 times or something. Whatever is fair.

Maybe people might say that if I cannot afford a 1.5m perk at my level then that is the way the game works. But based on my RNG experience in this game and others, there is a pretty good chance I may never see that perk again.

If you're playing for free, and you're fretting about missing 'must have' items, then the shop is likely doing exactly what it was designed to do. That's how the game makes money.

If you really don't want to miss the item: buy pearls > convert to gold > purchase the item. And do it quickly before the timer runs out. If you don't do it Zeus and Miika have to live off ramen all week xD

So yeah, they're probably not going to fix something that encourages people to spend more.

It sucks when it happens - Its probably worthwhile to always keep some gold at hand, buying parts can always wait.

This isn't a complaint thread from a f2p player. I have contributed $ to the game but I am also not a whale. IMO I consider it the key market for developers to win over. Whales will always be whales and f2p diehards cannot be shaken down for cash. I could buy pearls (which I see is the purpose of the shop) and I certainly do not want to cut into a fair profit for Rovio (which is the death knell of a game) but the costs are currently too prohibitive for my wallet. 1.5M gold costs about 1500 pearls which equals about $15. I don't know about you but that is way out of my league. Given the fact that you need like 40 of them in the long run, I would say that a price of $5 would be more than fair.

But back on topic, I do want Rovio to make money. But also note that they cannot make money without players. My suggestion would want to tackle both. I guess it all depends on whether they want to keep existing players around for the long run or just get some fresh ones.
