Shooter loadout

Could work for sure, flare is a little wasted when you are running the fire bomb as shooters are always more powerful at range.
If you get into close quarters fight with a speeder / enfo they will usually run rings around you.
In an ideal world you should replace the flare with something more shooter like (sniper, rail gun, even a big torp) but if that is your only inventory then give it a whirl

 

I think that the difficulty you’ll have is that at your infamy, you’ll be battling Mk6 ships, and you’ll be a Mk5 shooter, so you’ll be underpowered and likely to lose infamy. If you lose a lot, you’ll most likely quickly lose you’re desire to run a shooter, so I’d not rush the switch.

However, in terms of building up to a switch, the first thing I’d do is start saving gold and buy Mk6 shooter (and then you can add the standard shield). Most shooters also run a bandage, so start saving any of those that you see. Your build certainly wouldn’t be meta, but that’s not to say it couldn’t work. (the shooter meta tends to be a long range setup to keep enemies at arms length)

One advantage that you would have as a shooter, is that you’ll have a greater range of weapons that you can try to get the ‘legendary’ weapon achievement for.

As far as the achievement, Im almost halfway to the legendary!
I have so many weapons to start building up, the parts required are killing me.
