Rivalry Matchmaking System

    How do the rivalry matchmaking system work? Does it take into account how many guild members, infamy, and global rank?

    Just the global rank which is how much is your total infamy count of a guild.

    It doesn't seem to be based on members or infamy or rank. At least not in any way I can see.

    Two of our rivals have 1 member each - 600 inf and 3000 inf (ranked at like 20000th global guild) .
    The other 3 are similar to us, 2 of them are top 30 global guild.

    I'm just wondering cos that was what made the developer change the rivalry rules, right?

    Quote: "some guilds were trying to use an exploit, where they would leave their guild/ hop between guilds, to artificially lower the guild's rating so that it gets matched with easy low level guilds."

    So what is it exactly that determines our rival in rivalry.

    Everyone in my rivalry is 40-50k rating so that definitely has something to do with it. Maybe number of members does too not sure

    The rivalry change was to make it so you have to be in the guild from the start in order to get rivalry rewards, so people can't leave then have their guild match up and then join back in. They could, but they'd just lose rewards so there's no point

    It's based on guild infamy yes... and it sucks. My guild just got matched for the 3rd time in a row against the same guild that we can't possibly win from. It's getting really tiresome to see the rivalry reset, see the guilds, and know in the first 10 seconds that it's hopeless.

    Ideally, rivalry should have a "guild infamy" system, where a top 3 place in the rivalry gives your guild infamy where places 4, 5 and 6 make you lose some. Then Rovio could start matching guilds based on how well they do in rivalry, which means everyone would have a chance at victory. Right now the rivalry matchup is based on something that has nothing to do with rivalry or guild quests, and that causes bad matchups, where guilds that consistently do badly keep getting matched against very good guilds.

    I think your next rivalry opponents are based on the amount of quests you completed in Last one. So better you are, harder opponents you face

    Hmm, I haven't heard this before. I do think it's unlikely though. If my guild never completes more than board 4 and these other guilds are completing 53-55 quests, we should not be matched with them anymore, right? Yet we are.

    You would think it works that way but I don't believe that's true. Our guild has finished 4th or lower the last three times and got matched up again with rivals that are currently trouncing us. It's really putting a strain on the guild as people are thinking about leaving just to get into easier matchups.
