Reporting Players: Useless?

    Greetings Captains!

    I'm curious, does the "Report" feature in game actually do anything? We just had a player flooding global chat with inflammatory religious bigotry for a solid 15 minutes. He took regular breaks to insist that the "Report" function was useless—looks like he may have a point?

    Also, why don't we have a "Mute" feature?

    Thanks for any insights.

    It sometimes takes a while, but he has a nice fat ban coming soon:)

    Because of all the abuse I don't think anyone has the time to cover 10000 reports to ban 10 people.

    Blame the community.

    They should hire a few people to deal with the reports. Given their greedy pay to win system they should have enough money to do so.

    I wish we knew more about the time lag to ban. I had the same issue with a similar person for weeks. He is gone for now. I have no idea if he was kicked or banned.

    Muting players would be great as a short term solution.

    Reports are being actively monitored and prioritized according to the amount of unique players reporting. This means the more people report the offenders the more easily they stand out from the noise. The developers do however also need sleep sometimes which means we can't guarantee banning to be immediate. But it will always happen eventually. We do not tolerate or let people to get away with that kind of behavior.
