Release inactive names

I thought of a new system so we can get unavailable names that aren't used or inactive. This is how it will work.

If the user with the name you want is inactive for 3 months their name may be made available for you.

You will select the name you want and if it is taken and has been inactive for 3+ months it will send a notification to the user. The user will have 7 days to get on and keep his name. If he fails to get on the game and remains inactive for those 7 days you can purchase the name for 1000 pearls.


I feel this is needed because lots of users would be willing to buy a new name. For example. If someone's name is "Boater1560" they might want the name "Boater". Etc.

Personally I want the name Joey. Ik it is inactive since the game started because I asked in rovio's support system.

Hope this is taken into consideration.

 

I think 3 months is too little. Maybe like 6 months. But I agree that inactive names should be made available.

 

What? It already costs 1000 pearls to change your name. Nothing changed

 

But I’m gonna go on school break, I don’t need to see another person copying my name or making a spoof off of it. Plus, this is an insult to legends like P0rthos.

If someone has made significant progress, spent money, or linked their account, then I don’t think it’s right to mess with their name.

However, names that have ‘never’ been active should be recycled. Like if someone hasn’t been online for over year, and never played more than a handful of games, then it’s probably safe to assume they’re not using the name. Recycle it for someone else to use.

Same with guild names. Especially empty ‘invite only’ guilds that no one can ever join, they should be recycled.

But to get my name. I had to use a * before and after *
Because some random person who doesn't play made a name in day 1 with jaws and hasn't played since.

Inactive names have to be exiled and those names used again. No Name should be camped on.

Don't worry, the ** makes the name much more beautiful as it adds a sort of aesthetic in the form of small details around the edges
