Post-Update Detailed Item Popularity Snapshot[18/11/17]

Hey there,

Back with the Item popularity Snapshot!
This time the shots(data) were taken a bit after the update, a couple of days after the mid-season!

The shot is based on Statistics laid by data analysis of Top 50 players at that instant of time.

Overall Item Popularity Snapshot :

So, above we have the overall Popularity Snapshot.

• Comments:

1. Turbo and Big shield: Again on top of the snapshot with almost 94% of top players using it.
2. The rise of Explosive Cannon: Explosive Cannon has climbed up in the popularity snapshot, from 42% last time to 68%.
3. Mortars and Torpedoes: Clearly, Top players seem to have lost interest in Mortars and Torpedoes.
4. Infamy Push: Top Players seems to use Cannons mostly,for Infamy push.

Now comes the Ship Popularity Snapshot :

• Comments :

1. The rise of speeder and fall of Shooter: Speeder has gone through a noticeable climb in popularity among top players, where Shooter was dominating the Leaderboards last season!

Now, it's time for Ship-Wise Item Popularity Snapshot :

First, Speeder :

• Comments :

1. Flare Gun - Explosive Cannon Combo: The Leaderboard flooded with speeder with this specific combination of red items.
2. Frost Launcher: Even after the buff Launcher seems to be disliked by top players!

Second, Shooter :

• Comments:

1. Sniper Cannon: Being used by every single shooter on the Leaderboards! This weapon is known for Critical damage and long range!
2. Mortars and Torpedoes: As I mentioned earlier, they have no serious attention from the top players.

Third, Defenders:

• Comments:

1. Explosive Cannon: The favorite weapon among top players(defenders), though undergoing a slight nerf hasn't lost its popularity at all.
2. Dominating Cannons: Cannons dominate the slots of top playing defenders for infamy push.

Fourth, Enforcers :

Fifth, Fixers :

​

Since Enforcers and Fixers weren't used by many players, the item popularity among them cant be judged hence I just laid the statistics.

Reason: Used by many players.
I wish rovio could give us access to the total number of players using each class of ship.

Having a two point turbo would allow for more meaningful decisions among blue items

 

Nerf bandage. Bandage is too good now.

 

Okay lol,EXPLOSIVE AND FLARE beat Sniper considering both items were nerfed wow(flare indirectly)!!!
one of the many possible explanation to this----Frost torp users shifted to flare+explosive.

Another surprising thing,Tesla shield surpasses tesla bolt.Guess frost blaster was replaced by shield which perfectly compliments with flare-explosive...

As he said, shooter dominated last snapshot and did they get a nerf? No.

Sad to see frost left behind in the dumpster, it's one of the most fun setups imo

Also interesting how little diversity there is among all the boats but especially when it comes to enforcer and defender

I don't think so!
In a game where staying at one place is a crime, you need speed to move no matter what it costs you!

 

Interesting. I gained a bunch of infamy and do more damage by going to sniper on my enforcer instead of blasts and flare.
I must be doing it wrong. Going to retry if I ever get another epic. Unless I get another epic sniper first.

 

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter which weapon is most popular!
All that matters is what weapon r u most comfortable with.

 

RIP big torpedo, you will be missed

 

Yea! Frost needed a nerf! but this nerf that devs laid was a bit harsh I think, being the target among 5 players the enemy barely slows for a second and as you try to pull a shot, it's already moving.

 

I wish Rovio would give us access to any kind of information at all.
