nah, fixers don't suck, they're underpowered at higher lvls.

They are actually the easiest boat to climb infamy with. But high level players get bored of it (my guess) and switch to another boat

What a high level player think when they see à Fixer on their team ? Be honest.

The problem with fixers is, they often are the main target! And if a nightmare team focuses on a fixer, not really easy to survive. I also mostly go for the fixer first and if i am not, i am at least stunning the fixer.

We also have a target sign over our boat and no weapon to retaliate and no shielding for protection, even a Speeder has more HP.... We need more yellow slot.

True "easiest" boat for reaching nightmare league at mk5, still it's not an easy job to get there with mk5 but seems easier than with the other boats

No need to talk like that!! Devs try to balance boats and fixer was very hard to take down before update. But no matter if you like it or not, that f@&k off has no place here!!

Those fixers reaching nightmare at MK5 level are very lucky with the team making system and they probably not be in nightmare for a long time.

It's hard to allocate more points to Fixers without skewing the total value of the ship. Right now only the Speeder gets a 12th stat point at Mk6 - every other ship has to make do with 11.

Personally I think the Fixer needs a 3BB configuration at the higher levels; this would allow you to run Big Shield + Turbo and survive the huge burst damage that comes with Epic/Legendary weapons hitting you. 3BBB would be even better, as there would be more variable Fixer options (Big Shield + Turbo? Small Shield + Turbo + Bandage? Small Shield + Turbo + Rudder? Big Shield + Small Shield = Look Ma I'm A Defender?) but that might be too much stats for the devs taste.

The core problem with Fixer seems to be that it's a stale ship. You can have a dozen different loadouts for any other ship, but about the only variability you have on a Fixer is in the Reds. Blues are pretty locked in as Shield+Turbo if you want to live longer than a second, Greens are practically mandatory per-level with the only potential variety happening at Mk5 with the 4GG loadout (double pulse vs the pulse/box/bolt combo)

Well it takes some skill and of course as always in live, luck, I made it into nightmare league with my mk5 speeder. But luck still doesn't carry you all the way to 4k infamy

    Yes fixers are underpowered :(
Its not easy to gain infamy, it really isnt. Fixer, more than any other ship, is based on the performance of your team mates.

The devs tried to balance the fact we were hard to kill by nerfing repair pulse, but the double whammy was that our speed was also nerfed with the overboost nerf. So the mortars and torps i previously was able to escape, is much more difficult, and with our low defence, if a fixer shows themselves at all its an instant kill. (3000+ infamy). The devs also tried to add more variety by adding the repair bolt, and after the fix to make it to 1 slot, I like it.

The devs also seem really admant about keeping the duct tape, which is basically a glorified bandage, but i wont use it. The reason i use fixer is to heal others, and i would happily take a box that can heal me and team mates then be a selfish healer. I get it though, the duct tape keeps you alive to heal.

Duct tape still needs help. Bolt and box should be high heal, single target. Pulse should be medium heal, big AOE. Duct tape should be low constant heal, small AOE. Then I would use it. Any ship next to the fixer with duct tape should get a small constant heal. This would be interesting balance because it would cluster ships for an easy target but there is strength in numbers.

If you want to help fixer, give it the second red slot earlier.

Even if it's splitting the 2R into a 2RR at some level, that at least lets us fit two 1-slot weapons.

People dont get bored from winning - Fixers rely on teammates, which makes climbing to the top alot harder.
Imagine this fight and tell me who is likely to win:
    5k infamy Fixer + 4 players around 3k
    VS
    Christmas + 4 players around 3k.

Fixers cannot carry fights to the same degree as every other class (made much worse by the crazy nerf to selfhealing).

Same reason why Fixers climb easier at lower ranks, where the reliance on teammates is a positive instead. Much easier for a mk5 fixer to impact a whale game, than it is for a 3k HP speeder.

Ok, give us one more slot to equip the Duct Tape cause I need all the other tools to heal team. Unlock the slot at MK5.

I have seen players reach the nightmare league with mk5 ships. Some of them are fixers, some are shooters (I haven't seen other mk5 players reaching nightmare but I'm pretty sure it has happened). Yes, maybe they have had a bit luck but all of them are excellent players! I have played with them and it's not only luck they're at 4k and not at 3.5k. It's possible some of them would have been at 3.9k instead of 4k but when playing at the same battles with them you can see they also have lots of skill.

I don't think my fixer is underpowered. I am a mk5 at around 3.5k infamy (my record is 3670 or something). Yes, it is hard to stay alive between the shots of the nightmare players but it's the same with all the mk5 ships. I have only rare items and I still can feel I help my team to win. I don't succeed every time, of course, but that's life.

Well, if not underpowered then we should have more Fixers in the top 50...
