    So that’s why there’s been a noticeable absence of some of the key dev team members the last few months, they’ve been whisked away to work on the new multi player game. :p

    They did say that devteams are separate, you know... the BB team does not work on AB or AB2 or anything of the kind:p

    They definitely want someone with experience working on the new product, to make tech and architectural decisions, and not just a bunch of new hires. :)

    And, they’ve probably decided to reuse parts of BB (maaaybe, game companies are constantly rushed, might be uncommon to have time for writing good decoupled reuseable code). Either way, makes sense to bring some of the accumulated experience over to the new team.

    True. You do have a point there:D

    As someone who is pursuing a computer engineering degree rn, I totally get your point, because even on our(very small) scale, we recycle code all the time:)

    So yeah, your guess is probably right, especially if they work in the same office...

    But then again, their core team probably is not moving out since all they're needed to do, hypothetically, is help the other game's team get their heads around their code. I don't think @Dmg don is helping with the art or anything, nor do I see @Zeus needing to test a completely different game(unless server architecture is the same, I guess? Not a network guy here lol)

    I think Miika could well have gone to work on that. I haven’t seen him for ages, and I think he is Technical VP at Rovio, so they would probably want his input on a new multiplayer project like that.

    Yikes... Hopefully we'll get a Dev reply as to what the future of Battle Bay is gonna be. Or are they gonna focus on the new game and let this one die?! Hopefully not, but ya never know with Rovio tbh

    Game won’t vanish anytime soon, it will probably be around for as long as it’s income > the hosting cost. We’ll see a long and slow tail of decline (and people leaving) before the game is in any danger of dying. But unless by some miracle it suddenly attracts tons of new players, it will eventually happen - BB is sadly far from the second success that Rovio is chasing.

    What I’m afraid though is that we won’t see any major new content. They’ve made it easy now to add new boats and items in the previous release. The dev team will probably focus on producing (premium?) items and ships. Stuff that makes money for relatively little effort (compared to say, a new game mode).
