    Hi Guys,

I got a problem on battle bay, playing 1-2 week and have 761 infamy, I'm still on lv 9.
So when I have a battle, the others are MK3 / MK4 boats.
Now every time I have a battle, I always on 4th / 5th since I took least damage, even if I could stay until the end. 1 stars at max now.
My weapon: Cannon 126dmg, cannon 148dmg, blast cannon 271dmg, big torpedo 331dmg, mortar 208dmg.
All uncommon & rare already lv 10. But the struggle to really took a serious damage is real.

    Anybody face the same problem?

Yes... basically every non-casual player faces the same problem. It is the new player experience in battle bay.

I consider below 1500 infamy as "the land of flotsam & jetsam". There you're going to find matches that are non-sensical in every possible way. The most dominant factor in the match will be how many high-mark floaters each team has. It's simply utter chaos.

As you get past 1500 infamy in a reasonably well geared M4 boat (I had rare 25-ish gear) things start to be more sane. For starters, there are an awful lot fewer floaters and the ones who do are not reliably the most important parts of the team. Next, the gear score ranges really collapse. I'm in a M5 with a gear score of 5800 and I'm fighting around the 2k infamy mark. My battles are reliably a bunch of mark 5's with a smattering of mark 6 boats. ALL of my opponents are reasonable opponents. It's Battle Bay the way Battle Bay ought to be.

How I got there was just by grinding through the hell zone. By "grinding" what i mean is that I focused on quantity of matches completed rather than winning. Winning, of course, was desirable but I wasn't going to wait 90 seconds for every match to start. I went out and engaged the enemy. I tried to win but time was more important. That mind set kept my infamy down at a more comfortable level without me needing to actually "float" in any battles. I was just playing more casually. I was also reliably filling up my gold/sugar reserves and raking in a fair number of pearls.

When I decided to start actually playing Battle Bay I changed entirely. Now I won't swap off my normal ship and weapon load outs at all and I play every single match to win. My income has slowed down considerably but since I don't need the upgrades so badly that's [sort of] OK.

Down at your level I was playing a shooter and I quickly realized that Don't Get Hit was the only strategy that worked. For that reason I loaded out dual turbos rather than armor and I learned to drive and how to dodge bullets (go forward and back along a line tangential to their line of fire forcing them to actually lead and anticipate). It would've been smarter to just swap to a speeder which has the speed thing built-in. Honestly it sucks but it's how the game is. The good news is that the combat engine in Battle Bay is a blast so there's some incentive to work through the land of flotsam and jetsam.
