Monthly Official Tournaments

    We need to take Battle bay to the next level in terms of being a E=Sport.
    Here is the outline of how these monthly tournaments can work.

    Every month towards the end of the month will feature a tournament final where the finalist teams from each region will face off for the top 3 teams podium prizes.
    Every week on saturday there will be a qualifiers tournament for every region, seperated into divisions. The 1st place teams from each division will compete in the sunday tournament against the other finalists. The sunday 1st place team will earn the right to represent their country in the monthly global tournament.

    Eligibility criteria for tournaments:
    You guys can help me decide some more on this.
    The teams must be pre made and all players must be from the same country.(We need to somehow prevent VPN bypass)

    The tournament will feature participation rewards and bigger rewards for finalists.

    NOTE: This tournament system will be very difficult to implement because everyone is clumped together in oen huge server.
    If we the game logins were split into multiple servers like MMOs based on geographic region then this system would work very well.

    Open to suggestions on how this can be implemented. Thanks

    A tournament would be nice, but it will take a lot of planning, organizing and work. If devs don’t already have an idea how to do this, i don’t see this being implemented in a long time :oops:

    Its a p2w freemium, how on earth will you have this generate any amount of e-sport attention? Perhaps a few years down the road in a secondary play option with equalized stats.

    There are tiers for competitions. The best of the best obviously will have played for a long time or have invested a a few hundred thousand. Perhaps a team infamy tiered system

    If tournament should balance all gear, ships etc. Same with idea 5 vs 5 around this board, how to limit gears and ship, etc

    If they can find above formula.

    Tournament items / ships should be used instead of actual items to be fair to skill&luck2win players.
