Mine-laying Guides?

    (I really wanted to name this "How to play Minesweeper". I really did. I thought it'd be treated as spam though.)

    So apparently I've found a rare Mine, and I've been using it a lot on a Mk. 1 Shooter (which also has a rare Shield and a Lvl 4 rare Cannon), and I've never really done elaborate mindgames in Battle Bay, so I've just put down mines virtually anywhere, and have gotten very, very mixed results, but still have no clue what would be an optimal mine strategy. There have been times I mine the entire capture point and two ships just sail straight into them, and there are other times I throw down a mine at some random spot and when I'm spectating someone else after I die it suddenly kills an enemy.

    So what does the community have on how to use mines efficiently without a huge amount of relying on stupidity to win? I doubt I'm using the mines properly, and would like to know.

    I use mines at a high level more for zone control. Put a few in chokes, preventing the enemy team from passing through there, if an enemy passes a certain point, throw a mine behind them to make retreating harder and backup harder etc. It's not rare that i will hit 1-2+ mines a match, but it depends a lot on the map as some maps have more chokes that is ideal for mines.

    A question, though. Do the mines last forever or do they end up disappearing after some time?

    they automatically explode after a set amount of time :)

    I really, really, really do not like mines, but I have a lot of respect for them. Best advise I can give (since I do not use them myself) is, do not break off from your team and build yourself a little mine barricade. No one will enter it and you will get mortar spammed at the end of the match. Stick with your team and lay mines in areas speeders and enforcers will try and sneak, or barrel, into close range. They are also good for get-aways.
