Matchmaking System Broken?

    I found out about this game yesterday, won a couple of games and now every 1 or 2nd game I get to fight versus MK3 and MK4 Ships with Epic Items and so on. Is this game supposed to be a Pay Wall from day one? Or there's an imbalanced/borken ranking system?
    I usually support the devs as I am one myself and do invest in it if I find it worthy, but this, this is absurd.

    Broken matchmaking system, I think they make enough revenue from ads
